Ives by Schlage 991B26 Sliding Door Pull

We chose this shiny, chrome hardware for our new pocket door. I installed it myself, which was fairly simple.I was sure to measure carefully before cutting into the new door, but the provided instructions had accuratedimensions, and the task went fairly quickly. Note, that adding the strike-plate was actually the more complicatedpart of the installation. A good tip is to use the latch itself to mark the location on the jamb by gently closing the doorwhile the latch is flipped open. It will leave a mark right in the center where the strike should go.Once you have the latch location, you can align the plate with the dent and use a pencil to mark the dimensions.I found it unnecessary to drill as large a hole as the directions indicated, since the latch is fairly small. It is alwayseasier to enlarge a hole than it is to make one smaller.

Finish is flawless and easy to maintain. The locking mechanism is a nice feature even if you may seldom use it. The door pull is easy to install and will retrofit if you currently have a similar pull installed. Very satisfied with the quality of this product.

Had it professionally installed. The installer pointed out to me that it was hard to engage the lock. Looks very nice on door and has a lovely finish. The locking mechanism is difficult to turn. Not sure if it will loosen up with use or if it needs some type of lubrication. Installer tried to make adjustments, but did not have success. Will see what happens with usage. I have kind of large, clumsy fingers and the piece you turn to lock it is not very big. I think it might be a challenge for a child or anyone with manual dexterity challenges, but I believe this would be similar on any other make or model of pocket door privacy lock--just the nature of this type of door hardware. Will see how it works out. Hope nobody gets locked in!

Nice solid quality. Not flimsy. Feels very substantial and easy to use - good value.

Does not operate properly. I need to replace one in brass , so I bought this one & had it shipped near our canada house & drove over to get it & drove back to install it. It looked fine but it does not unlatch . It is broken & too much of a hassle to ship it back. I do not recommend this product to anyone since ours did not operate, it will only lock & you cannot unlock it at all. I had to have the screw driver passed to me through a first floor porch window to un screw the screws & then on the other side of the door as well to remove the latch from the door. This was not as expected

It fit fine but the screws are slightly too big so they don't completely recess. They catch on the door stop trim if I'm not careful when I open the door. Otherwise it seems well made.

We love this lockset! Easy to install, quality materials compared to the flimsy hardware available at the box stores. Simple style and design. Locking mechanism is effortless to use. Was the cherry on top of our pocket door plans.

Good quality, would have preferred if there was more depth, fingers tend to slip... No grip to pull the door. Also the latching screw is to small .. Need a bigger one it your always getting hurt
