how long does this take to put together and does it come in panels for example one for each side ?

It took us a long time! We didn't do it all in one day, but it took us many hours. No, it is NOT one panel for each side. None of it comes pre-assembled, so there are lots of parts, measuring, etc.

Do the windows have any kind of plexiglass or plastic in them or are they open spaces?

The windows are open spaces. I do not recommend this play house. It is cute but it has not held up well. In less then 9 months it has totally fallen apart, the handle fell off the door right away, the roof has warped and split, the table came apart and the mailbox did not stay together.

would this be too small for a 6 year old boy?

My 5 year old fits fine with him and a friend inside and at the table, I think there should be plenty of room for a 6 year old. I can even go in there and stand up with my son and 'hang'

How deep is the ledge/counter that has the sink on it? I'm looking for something that I could put in a toy sink we already have.
