Poor Man’s JCW/GP R53 Upgrade
Decided to use these pads for the big brake upgrade in my r53 Mini Cooper S. Reasons weee because these had a ton more stopping power, second only to the yellows, but had the least amount of break dust of any pads in the market. Ran them for a couple thousand miles so far and they perform great

Fit 2005 MINI Cooper S R53
These fit the rear brakes on my 2005 MINI Cooper S, aka R53. If you are looking for the fronts, the part # is DP31388C and you can read my review of the pads there. Overall, great pad, low dust with incredible grab without being difficult to modulate like in light braking situations. I haven't had a chance to use them on the track but they are a definite upgrade over the OEM pads.

Wrong fit
This type and brand of brakes are very well rated everywhere. However, this listing specifies these are compatible with a 2007 MINI Cooper S (R56, i.e. 2nd gen) and they are not. The brakes on the R56 model do not have the hook-looking ending, they're instead stubbier. These look, though, like they would fit R53, the 1st generation MINIs. Anyway, I found that out the hard way, only after taking off the wheel and the old brake on one side. Not cool.add: The correct pad is DP31931C EBC Brakes DP31931C Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Brake Pad (whose picture is also wrong on Amazon); for the front brakes, the pad is DP31789C EBC Brakes DP31789C Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Brake Pad (as of 5/2011, picture of this product is wrong, too)So my 3 stars are averaging the 5 stars for the product and 1 star for the listing.

Did not fit
This product did not fit my 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman S even though I used Amazon's "Car Compatibility" at the top. Luckily Amazon has a great return policy so I got these returned with no issue but be more careful than I when trusting the Amazon Car Compatibility device.

Fantastic brake pads for an R53
I love these pads, I use EBC red stuff on front and rear. Great for emergency situation stops, and the dust is pretty low. I have used these pads ever since my OEMs wore out, and I will probably fit most of my cars with them in the future.

for R50 generation of MINIs. REAR.
Perfect fit on R52 + JCW brake kit. (all R50 generations had same brake callipers even Cooper S and John Cooper Works)Love the redstuff. My second set, previous set lasted more than 50000 miles in Traffic heavy Tokyo.Good grip even when cold, fantastic when heated up a little on twisty bends.

Must Buy!
All I can say is awesome!!!! All day at the track with no brake fade or any kind of brake noise from brake in to race track.

Good replacement pads for occasional motorsport activities
Had these pads professionally installed on the rear wheels of my 2006 MINI JCW as an upgrade when replacing the worn out OEM pads. They took a little time bedding in properly but now work very well. EBC states that you need to run them for about 1000 km before you reach the full braking potential for these pads.I went with these pads since I autocross a dozen times and participate in two to three high performance driver education (HPDE) or lapping sessions every year. I needed a pad that wasn't a full-on track compound (noisy and dusty) since the JCW is my daily driver from April to November, but I wanted brake pads that were more heat tolerant and less prone to brake fade than OEM pads. So far, so good. Good braking power with little brake dust clinging to the rear wheels and I hope to see braking performance increasing as the summer goes by.I currently run EBC Greenstuff on the front and will most likely be replacing them with Redstuff, along with new front rotors, when the time comes.
