I got so tired of the multimode flashlights available that I went looking for a single mode flashlight like this. After all how many times in your life are you going to use strobe or the SOS modes that many competitors offer. These modes are a time waster and I don't want to cycle through 4 modes to get to the mode I want every time the dog stops to possibly do its business. On / Off is what I wanted.There are a ton of single mode lights available but a lot of times in this price range they have a much weaker light and are not focus-able as these are.Why 4 stars instead of 5? The wrist strap is attached to the flashlight by a nylon loop through a drilled hole in the flashlight. That hole does not have smooth edges which means that the strap will eventually break as it rubs against the rough edges. Second, the strap is about long enough for a small woman. Does not fit the average male. This is true of most similar flashlights. I think many of these products must come from the same manufacturer.I fix this by adding a metal ring to the hole in the flashlight and attach a larger wrist strap that I have purchased to the metal ring.I have bought several of these so far, so I do believe them to be an excellent value even after doing the strap modifications as mentioned above.

I read the reviews about the switches collapsing into the body for some folks. At the price I thought it would be worth the risk. Came with the sleeves for the rechargeable Li-ion battery but I tested with AAA in the also included 3-AAA holder. One light had the switch boot collapse into the body first try. I pushed in until the switch clicked using my pinky as my sausage thumb wouldn't fit. The light switched off and on and the light spring would eventually push the orange rubber boot out. Probably wouldn't continue to do this once the boot got some age on it. I unscrewed the cap and removed the switch holder (round white piece with a spring loaded brass piece sticking out of the middle). Inside it was the switch itself. The boot stayed in the opening of the aluminum tail piece. It looks like the round white piece is supposed to press into the aluminum body but there is no mechanical means to hold it in place. I dropped a few drops of super glue on the outside surface of the white pieces and slid it back into the tail piece. Let it sit a bit and it seems to be fine. One little extra bit of labor to put a dab of adhesive in place during assembly and 90% of the critical reviews of these lights would be gone. If you have some super glue and don't mind the task (about as hard as loading batteries) you can have some pretty good cheap ON/OFF LED lights. The boot is recessed in the tail so yo can stand this up on the tail to shine the light up without hands. That is if you don't use the included lanyard. There is a hole in the tail for the lanyard but no relief for the cord if you stand it upright. Once again, a little time with a file will add this bit of utility. Or remove the lanyard if you don't us them. Bright, adjustable focus, compact and great price.

I used a single battery #18650 with the provided plastic sleeves. I'd recommend the seller cross reference a battery charger for the single battery option. My wonderful spouse has a tendency of loosing flashlights used to walk our Big Dog so having spare flashlights is a must. At this price who can beat it?! Light adjustment is by twisting the front portionof the light in and out. I'll be taking one of these flashlights camping.

i ordered these two flashlights. one worked, one did not. the button just fell jnto the light when pushed. the one that worked was great, very bright. but i needed two, so i took a chance that the bad one was a fluke and ordered another two.a few days after i got the second two, the first one did the same thing- button pushed right into the light. i pulled out one of the second batch, same thing. turns out the one that worked for a month was the fluke.i took them apart trying to make them work. the springs are weak and small and just sitting loose inside.i threw all four in the trash. i'm back on amazon to order some darned flashlights.

When you fully zoom the light you see the pattern of the LED array and not a nice clean circle as I expected. I have used lights that were smaller and brighter but the case seems very sturdy the size satisfies my needs. I was not exactly impressed and probably will not get more of them for any other purpose nor recommend them to anyone else.

Opened the package and as I'm unscrewing the first flashlight to put the batteries in, the whole lower assembly springs out of the base. I reassembled it and tried to put it back together, and got the batteries in. The flashlight will click on; but when I tried to click it off, the whole rubber pad covering the clicker goes up into the body of the flashlight and it needs to be disassembled to turn it off.The second flashlight works wonderfully. It's brighter than any other flashlight I own of the AAA battery type. I really enjoy the ability to turn it on, turn it off, no mess, no fuss, no disco light/dimmer/SOS options to cycle through to make it work. I'd give the product high marks if they'd both arrived intact.
