Wearable Flowers are Truly Accessible!
Susan McLeary is that one-of-a-kind artist who dwells among us - inspirational, creative and curious explorers should RUN to buy this book. Susan, her designs, and techniques are other-worldly, but completely accessible. I noted that Debra Prinzing interviewed her for the article "A Curious Creative" for FloristReview - I have to find that article in my stack! And Susan says her work creates a "permanent grin" which is so sweet and understandable for me because I love providing my farm-grown flowers to customers - I get it. She uses the glorious unique bits from astrantia, pieris, fritts, succs, hyacinths, pokeberry!, and currant tomatoes, among many, many other blooms and buds. I would like to keep this generous book under a bushel basket, and not share, but I don't dare. Susan deserves every accolade, recognition, appreciation from everyone she touches - she opens our eyes to the beauty in the smallest parts of our flower world!

Top book of an extensive collection.
I have worked in floristry for over 15 years. Susan is a breath of fresh air reminding us all (florist or not) to stop and revel at the flowers. All flowers are beautiful but in the right hands, certainly Susan’s, some become art. The book is generous with explanation of technique, includes a clear explanation of design principles and how they relate to flowers, and inspires innovation. Every so often someone comes along to shake up floristry. How lucky that Amanda has captured the work and Susan has willingly shared her techniques so all who want to can create what they crave.

Get this book to stand out making unique designs!
This book is simply amazing at not only showing you -- step by step -- how to create a multitude of wearable florals, but also begins to initiate concepts and techniques that you can then apply to your own style to really stand out. I have made the floral tattoos and got so many compliments from folks that never saw this type of design -- it helped me get additional floral business. Its a great reference book too -- you may not think you need to know how to make certain items in this book -- all beautiful -- until the request is given, and you will have the knowledge and steps to succeed. Love this book!

Delighted to have for reference
This gorgeous book is floral eye candy, but it’s more than that; it’s also floral inspiration with clear instructions. Not that common in the floral world. Sue McLeary is both innovator and educator to florist. Her work is amazing and unusual and now she gives step by step instructions on how to create beautiful, wearable art in your own floral voice. I am so excited to have this in written form. I am a subscriber to her floral classes online which I also enjoy but am so excited to be able to have this book for a permanent resource for my floral designs. I cannot wait to make a floral headpiece and now am locking myself in my room to spend some more time reading what is sure to be a classic to florist everywhere. If you’re a florist or floral enthusiast order your own copy and prepare to be enthralled by the innovative and gorgeous designs.

for pro's and novices alike! An inspiring collection of floral adornments
I'm familiar with Sue's work and know her pieces for their intricate, elaborate details. I knew it would be a beautiful book to look at thanks to the photography by Amanda Dumouchelle, but what took me by surprise was the accessibility of so many of the projects! I am not a floral designer, nor am i a hard core crafter, but this book has inspired me to embark on the Hyacinth Hoops (p. 47) project immediately! I can't wait to invite some girlfriends over to make our own floral jewelry and sip botanical cocktails. Perfect to welcome Spring.

The cover - why
Love the book, but have to agree with a previous review - the half jacket was unexpected and leaves the book not fully protected. I was annoyed when I got the book.

Some good ideas
A very pretty book, with beautiful photographs to inspire. There are quite a few projects in this book-wrist cuffs, draping from shoulder, rings, necklaces, hats. and etc. Only disappointments/challenges: Some of the items required would have to be purchased at specialty stores, floral supplier, jewelry supplier. (would not just find everything at Michaels or a craft type store) Also the pieces tell you what flowers are used and many have quite a variety of flowers in them. Would be nice to have a chart/ list some substitutions for different flowers that are small/ long lasting out of water. As all the types of flowers used in these pieces are not always readily available, nor would you wish to buy 20 whole bunches of different varieties, only to use just 2-3 sprigs of each. So I would use your discretion if you want to follow the exact flower recipe for each. But I feel I have been inspired by this book to make something and these designs are fresh and modern, not your average lapel corsage.
