Unfortunately, I was never able to get it to connect. Customer service was no where to be found. I have a cat who was able to figure out how to get more food from the other feeders, so that's why I bought this one. The feeder door closes. It is tall and sturdy, but I can't comment on how well it worked because it didn't work for me. There is no manual set up either, only Wi-Fi.

This feeder works really well so far. I have had no issues with it feeding my Akita’s. They really took to it pretty quickly. What I like the most is the amount of food it holds. 5 lbs of food, I have two feeders and I fill them once a week, which is awesome. The only thing that was a bit difficult was the wi-fi connection. It took some time to get it connected, but otherwise it is pretty awesome. The app is pretty cool with the ease of portion selection and times. I always check the app to make sure it fed properly. The drop down style paddle wheel works way better than the carousel style. I believe it was worth the money I spent. It has sure given me a bit more freedom from being home at a specific time every day along with my AutoSlide door system and ring cams. I can feed the let them out and keep an eye on them all with my phone. Pretty awesome.

I like this product. It is the only self feeder that I have found that is able to handle my German Shepard’s Kibble. All of the others that I have tried will not disperse it. The only thing I wish it had was the voice recording option, but it doesn’t. It is a great product and the app works really well.

I ordered this feeder after my Petnet feeder stopped working and that company went out of business. My new PETKIT feeder only took about 10 minutes to set up after it came out of the box. The app is intuitive and this seems like an awesome product so far. I’m hoping it continues working well and I get many years out of it.

I love ALMOST everything about this product, but the thing that doesn’t work well is major. I bought it to feed my cats breakfast when I was away (my sister came in the evenings for play time and dinner), and it was super accurate, on time, and easy to customize meal times and sizes. Minor issues: The voice commands thru Alexa are not very innate for a native English speaker, but that’s easy to get used to, and you can’t sync it with Alexa routines, which I would have liked to be able to do so that my cats can press a smart button for food to be dispensed.MAJOR: unlike regular pet food storage, the reservoir that contains the food is NOT AIR TIGHT. Why does this matter? One word: ants. From spring - autumn in seasonal areas, this is borderline unusable because ants find their way inside and make a colony. I know they aren’t just coming after the food is dispensed because I’ve watched it: the food comes out WITH ANTS (alive and dead) MIXED IN 🤢. Obviously I don’t want my cats eating this, so for about half the year, I can’t use this machine, which is a shame, because it does work quite well. This seems to be a pretty major design flaw, and manufacturers should work on creating a tighter seal so this doesn’t happen.
