The unit reads codes and sensors lightning fast. I had my phone sitting up on my dash and it was actually reading the engine RPMs faster than the tach on board the vehicle. That being said, you do need to know that if you plan on using this as a permanent install or constantly having your phone showing gauges for your car, you need to know that you won't be able to use your phone for music or navigation or anything else that requires an internet connection. I realize to some this may be obvious and that iPhones do have WiFi Assist which helps and uses cellular when WiFi is connected but internet is not available. The problem is that WiFi assist only seems to kick in about 20% of the time at most. As long as you understand this, this really is a great tool for maintaining peak performance on your car.

It is a Wifi version and it works with both Car Scanner app on iphone and Torque on Android. The short compact profile is unobtrusive while still easy grab to insert or pull out of OBD port. The connector pins may be thinner or less-width to make proper contact. Almost gave up not seeing any Wifi to connect to, I had to wiggle it a bit, wait, wiggle again and wait unti wifi SSID shows up. Carefully bent both rows of pins about 1mm to same side using the flat end of a ruler and it now works as intended.Wish there is a button or a way to turn it off and leave it plugged in since it only emits “unsecured” wifi with no way to modify.

Works just as described, no password on wifi access but it's only temporary for me. Luckily my ecm is not programmable thru elm327, if yours programmable do not buy

Worked immediately, I used the car scanner app personally because I like it better than torque. Definitely recommended.
