World of Leather White, Fluffy, Soft and Silky Genuine Icelandic Sheepskin Wool Rug wsi (M 44")

I bought this as a costume accessory years ago, it's amazingly fluffy and just what I was hoping for.It lives in my living-room, on a footstool and so far has taken a beating and then some and still looks amazing and is still sturdy. It's even survived being washed, which I would recommend doing at least once when it first arrives as the curing chemical smell can be pretty overwhelming.Care is really simple, either you can purchase a wool and leather (make sure the product is for both!) shampoo and conditioning cleanser and and proper carding brush or go the "nah bitch I'm broke" method of diluted borax and a large dog brush. Wool and Leather cleaner you just follow the directions on the bottle, for the diluted borax mix -- take what you would use for dedicates and half that amount.Washing is an easy Brush>wash>squeeze>brush>dry>brush for ultra fluff.You can even machine wash, on hand wash setting COLD super gentle, squeeze out excess water or put it through another spin cycle or two. You can air fluff it once or twice in the dryer NO HEAT just air tumble, then lay it out flat to dry. It will take a couple of days to dry, and if you have a drying rack you can lay it on to get air on both sides even better.Care for the leather side is recommended using any standard leather conditioner to keep it nice and supple, just be careful to avoid the fur!

This rug seemed well produced and was beautiful, but not the one for us. The fur/hair is VERY long, like 5-6” over much if the pelt. If that’s what you’re looking for, then this might be a great match for you. Our intention is to use as a cozy for our pups on the couch. The fur on this is just too long for that. I imagine having to brush it out rather frequently to keep it nice. We opted for sheepskin Ranch version with much shorter fur This one has nice color, backside finish is good, soft, clean.

This is a beautiful piece. The back is buttery soft, no odor, and the hair is luxurious. I bought medium, and the sizing is accurate, measured on the fur side as noted. I love it.

These sheep skins are so soft! I love how they look. I’m a very satisfied customer .

Not thick enough. Fur is to long. Want to return it. Value is not there.

Beautiful but small. The sheepskin is absolutely beautiful but on the small side. I did order the medium 44inch but was disappointed in the size. Extremely soft and luxurious. It will work for what I wanted it for, just not ideal. Really do some measurements to make sure this would be big enough for your needs.

This is so beautiful and soft and big! All just as promised 🥰 I tried another brand and they were dreadful, these ones are the real thing! Omg they knocked my socks off! I’m a bit of a sheep expert and these outshone my other beautiful sheepskins. The hides are supple, soft and built to last! No loose wool here!The wool itself is nearly silk-like.I haven’t washed them but I’ve washed my other skins at home and the trick to keeping them soft and supple is to add liquid fabric softener, ideally during the wash and rinse cycle. They can be left to air dry without getting hard or tangling.I would also suggest keeping a wide toothed, round tipped revolving tooth metal comb around. I’ve always used one on my other hides, this one has the longest, silkiest fur I’ve ever seen. It will definitely require gentle and specialized combing to keep it untangled.It has been so well tanned that i haven’t had to comb it yet, despite pretty much treating it like it’s my blanket and I’m three. No separating us!Anyway, so happy to say I can recommend this seller after dealing with less scrupulous online sellers.This is a sure winner unless you require a very thick hide or very short wool.
