So well written very articulate and very British and it's tone What are great story not just a story but a saga which keeps you at the edge of your seat and very visually Presented you can see every thing if not even smell the atmosphere

A page turner as you want to see what happens next to the complex characters. It is well thought out that each member interacts in so many ways and circumstances. It keeps you hooked till the end and you are left wondering how they are going on from here.

I enjoyed it so much. The style is addictive, I fell in love with all the characters. Will read it again

Den 2. Teil dieser Familiensaga,fand ich fast noch besser,als den 1. Teil (Hardacres9.Der alte Sam,der das Imperium aufgebaut hat,hat sich zurück gezogen in seine Villa. Der I Weltkrieg hat auch in der Familie seine opfer gefordert. Das Problem ist,das es eigentlich keinen richtigen Nachfolger gibt,der das Familien-Imperium weiterleitet. Die Familienmitglieder leben alle,zwar nicht böswillig,teilweise durch den Krieg traumatisiert oder einfach,weil sie es nicht gewöhnt sind zu arbeiten,zu kämpfen und Geld zu vermehren,vom Geld ,das der alte Sam verdient hatte.Sein Urenkel beschließt jedoch eines Tages,wieder aus dem Kloster auszutreten und sein Erbe anzutreten. Genauso wie sein Urgroßvater fängt er als ungelernter arbeiter am hafen an und schafft es,mit allerhand Schwierigkeiten eine Schiffsbergungsfirma zu gründen.Er unterstützt seinen mittlerweile verarmten Großonkel und hält Hardacres,den familiensitz erfolgreich am Leben.Sehr spannend und mitreißend erzählt. Eine echte Leseempfehlung.!

After reading part one of this story I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. It continued the wonderful story and transported me to another time and place. Loved it.
