You can get fifteen minutes of the nice cooling gel sensation - *maybe* 20 if you're extremely motivated to move your head around to all the gel bits you haven't "used up" yet - and then you have to deal with the pillow slowly turning into a hot water bottle under your head overnight. Plus, the density of the gel itself is really hard on the cartilage of your ears, if you're a side sleeper.Two stars instead of only one because it is very sturdily constructed.

I bought it to compliment a Serta cooling pillow and really tried to like it but it was the first change of my pillow case a few days after I recieved it convinced me to return it.It was mid-morning almost 2 hours after I got up and it was still warm with body heat from my head.My pillow cools down quicker than it takes to get warm, which was what I mistakenly believed this thing would do.If you can get to sleep before it warms and you don't need it to cool off quickly so you can have a cool spot during the night, buy it, it will work for you but for anyone else you might try something different.It was a warehouse deal (a prior return) and I understand why the first one who bought it, returned it.Perhaps the third one to buy it will keep it.......

I was trying to find another like the 1 I have already. This came the closest. I think my other one does a better job of staying cool longer. I think its because the gel pads are thicker. Neither stay cool for very long but I just shift it to find the next cool spot. Once I'm asleep I'm good. If I wake up too warm there is always a cool spot to be found on it. I bought this 1 as a back up. I keep both on the bed in case I run out of cool spots, They really are a big help if your body tends to run hot. It doesn't take long for gel to get cool again. I'd be lost without them. Thicken the gel pads in this version and it would do a much better job.

The cooling effect doesn't last long but I don't think any gel ever will. The point is that it feels very refreshing at first and I can spin the pillow to the other end when I need cooling again during the night. The only issue is that it's surprisingly heavy so I wake up more than normal when turning it during the night.

Doesn't keep you cool, especially since you have to cover it with some protective, possibly waterproof fabric, which will ne hot, because this pillow cover isn't washable! How disgusting is that?

When I think of a cooling product for the bedroom I usually assume it just gets a cold surface quickly and stays that wait for a decent amount of time. And so at first touch when the pillow case was not cold to touch I was pretty disappointed. However once I tried it again but this time laid my arm on the surface and kept it there, I could literally feel the heat leaving my arm resulting and very chill feeling. Like I had laid my arm on an icepack. I sweat a-LOT and this pillow case for some reason has almost no notoriety or reviews and I am hoping that somebody gets to experience this product as well. Way WAY underrated. I still can't get over how much you can feel the heat being absorbed by the gel. It really is wild.

I purchased it before this cooling pillow cooling case late spring and am not using it right now because it's a little too cool for me until the heat and humidity of summer. The only drawback for me--and it isn't necessarily the pillow cooling case itself, is that it causes my pillow to be a little too high, making my neck a little sore in the morning. But I can remedy that as I have the ability to add or take away stuffing from my pillow. The few times I have used it, I have found that sleeping on my pillow is cool to the touch as it is promoted to be.

I've owned/used this for a year now, and I do not recommend this product. The first month I used it, it was cool to the touch for about 30-60 mins once I laid my head on it. Over time, however, it doesn't even do that anymore. Now it absorbs the heat and I end up with heat rash behind the ear I always lay on. I'm finding myself using my hand between the pillow and my head to help my ear not get overheated and sweaty. It just doesn't cool.

Like it but it doesn't stay cool..Dislike the fact that it's so heavy in weight and NOT machine washable.
