D**n Fine Coffee - And a D**n Fine Show!
D**n Fine Coffee - And a D**n Fine Show! This is the definitive collection of the Twin Peaks series - including the Television pilot, the complete first season, the complete second season, and the complete third season / follow-up from the 2010's. I've been a fan of this show ever since I first watched it as a teenager with my mom when it was first broadcasted on Television, and I remember the Twin Peaks "Craze" that struck American TV audiences back then. People nowadays would find it hard to believe but Twin Peaks was such a phenomenon that audiences - and even my own home - would have "Twin Peaks Parties" each week, inviting friends and family over to watch each new episode and having party foods and snacks as we intensely watched with bated breath at what sort of mysteries Agent Cooper would unfold next. Some of us even dressed up in costumes to emulate the characters, and I'm not ashamed to say, as a young teen, I wore my hair pomaded, and a black suit, with a black and red striped tie, to look my Cooperish best, as we ate donuts, drank d**n fine coffee, and kept our eyes glued to the TV set, trying to figure out who killed Laura Palmer, while likewise dreaming about the lovely Sherilyn Fenn, and hoping we'd see more of the Little Man in his red suit do his jazz dance and talk in backwards gibberish. The series is probably one of the most historically important in TV, because it changed the landscape of television for all time. The same way the Honeymooners defined the 50's, Dragnet the 60's, Starsky and Hutch the 70's, Miami Vice the early 80's, Twin Peaks defined the late 80's-early 90's television-land and created a culture of retro-cool noir that re-established television as a serious medium of entertainment. Without Twin Peaks there would've been no "X-files", no "Sopranos", no "Rome", no "Deadwood", no "Yellowstone". Twin Peaks broke ground where there was nothing but a blank canvas beforehand, and it left behind it an indelible legacy of how great Television could be, crossing the boundaries into the quality of story, scope, acting, and production value of a motion picture that appears on the small screen weekly. With all that being said, this set has everything Twin Peaks there is to see, except of course for the ill-fated film, but then again, this is the complete Television Collection, not a film collection. :) The DVD quality is first-rate, the sound is superb, and the show is a slice of genius from the creator David Lynch - who has the brillance of Alfred Hitchcock, the talent of Orson Welles, and the nightmarish madness of Ridley Scott all rolled into one off-beat mind. Some other folks have complained about the box of this box set itself being cheap flimsy plastic. It is what it is. I bought this for the discs, not the box. I keep all my dvd's and blu-rays in separate clothbound album cases anyway. But other than that, this set is a treasure. It hearkens me back to my young and dangerous adolescence, when the retro-noir cool of the 50's clashed with the pop-urban sprawl of the 90's to make an era that no one would ever believe existed if they didn't live through it themselves. And at a price under $40, you can't go wrong! So, make a pot of d**n fine coffee, put on the dvd, sit back, and relax and maybe you too can go back in time to an era when the night was darker, but the world was brighter.

The ultimate collection of a masterpiece of a TV series. Say: WOUlD YOu LiKE SomE COfFeE?
David Lynch's TV epic Twin Peaks took the world by storm in the late 80s and early 90s. The mystery of the death of Laura Palmer captivated millions of viewers. Every week people watched to see Agent Dale Cooper try to solve the Palmer case. The first season was groundbreaking but the second season was a big misfire that ended the show prematurely. After the failure of the lone film: Firewalk with Me, the show vanished until 2017 when season 3 (The Return) hit Showtime and again hit a home run. The show is amazing and was arguably the most influential show of the 90s. So lets say you want to get the entire series in collection: is that possible? Yes, but with a caveat. This collection gives you all of Twin Peaks Season 1,2, and 3. Their are around 16 BR discs worth of content. Not only do you get the entire show but you get hours and hours of special features (everything from interviews, cast meetings, cast reunions, and entire history of the show, fan conventions, etc) making this the perfect package for both newbies to TP hardcore fans. That said there a few knocks about this whole package. First on the show side: yes season 2 is a notable drop in quality from season 1, its a slog to get through whereas seasons 1 and 3 are amazing and will keep you hooked from beginning to the end. Second: this IS NOT the complete franchise as Firewalk with Me (the prequel film) is not included. If you are going to want to see everything the movie ( and the Missing Pieces extra footage), you need to watch this too. Fear not, the movie is available via the Criterion Collection (with its own batch of goodies including the missing pieces which was another 90 minutes of film footage ), so you can get everything pretty easily on here if need be. Lastly, the packaging is sturdy but sometimes the discs are a little annoying to remove so be forewarned. Conclusion: If you always wanted to start the show, this collection is great. If you are still a longtime fan who wants to watch it all over again, you will be giddy over the extras alone. Welcome to Twin Peaks friend, you must try the cherry pie Norma makes. P.S If you meet a little man in a red suit dancing be sure to listen to him.

Smart presentation and packaging of an impeccable television program
The show is unimpeachable; thatโs not what this is reviewing. The physical product is great; itโs a ton of discs, stacked 2x2 in sections across the bookpage-style package. I was concerned about having discs sit atop one another but as long as care is taken it hasnโt been an issue. The discs are very similar-looking but each clearly labels what episode range is on each. Feature-wise, each disc has the Log Lady intros from syndication and previously-ons which can be opted-in to auto play or not, not to mention a variety of making-ofs or interviews or outtakes depending on the disc. The box set is probably the definitive way to own the whole tv saga.

A Spellbinding Series That Will Make You Binge-Watch!
I LOVE this show! When Twin Peaks originally aired, I never watched it. I think I was into a different show that aired at the same time. I was browsing TV shows and came across Twin Peaks. It caught my eye because the name seemed vaguely familiar, and it was recently released in Bluray format. I looked up the overview of the series, and based on the description alone, I found it intriguing! After a little more digging, I found that Twin Peaks was written and directed by David Lynch (RIP), who directed the original 'Dune' movie, which I loved! I was sold. I made the purchase and have been obsessed with watching it, ever since! From the opening theme and the shots of nature and saw manufacturing, etc, to the performances of Kyle McLaughlin and the rest of the cast, it's just an immersing show that draws you in, and convinces you that Twin Peaks is an actual place that exists. I'm so glad I don't have to wait for the weekly releases of the original air dates! I can easily see why it had such a devout following, in the early 90's. Twin Peaks opens with and follows the FBI investigation of the murder of a local high-school girl; Laura Palmer, in the fictional small town of Twin Peaks, WA. The show embues all of the elements of a masterful Thriller, seasoned with dashes of drama, humor, romance and an intriguing measure of the supernatural! Twin Peaks has a slow-burn pace that went against the norms of television shows of the period, which only endears you further. The show also goes against the grain in certain other themes that, without spoiling plots, were counter-culture for the time, as well. The Twin Peaks original series will draw you in, grab hold of you and won't let go! The reason I make the distinction is; this set comes with David Lynch's, sequel trilogy of Twin Peaks 'A Limited Event', continuing the story of what was probably the biggest cliffhanger in television history! (THE INCLUDED CONTINUATION SERIES) However, inasmuch as I love the original series, and I've owned it for a year or so, now, I have only been able to watch a few episodes of the continuation sequel series. It had either been way too long since David Lynch had been in the Twin Peaks universe, or the man had fallen off his rocker! The sequel series is basically unwatchable! It's disjointed, convoluted, has long, drawn-out, bizarre and confusing sequences that don't move the plot forward at all and don't seem to have any point, at all! Kyle McLaughlin's performance is great, as usual, but it's just not enough to make me want to muscle through all of the confusing elements and see it through to the end. I don't know what happened here. The sequel series echoes bizarre elements, as did the original, but none of it makes any sense this time around. As well, the sequel series is devoid of the heart and soul of the original series. Comparatively, I don't think they could be any more diametrically opposed! It's almost like a completely different person wrote the sequel series and gave nearly zero credence or connection to the original storyline. It's baffling to me that the sequel was written and directed by David Lynch as well. But I digress. FINAL THOUGHTS: The entire set I bought is reproduced in beautiful HD Bluray resolution, and is a fitting tribute to David Lynch's original story. I'm very happy with this set, and I highly recommend the companion episode David Lynch later released; "Fire Walk With Me", exploring the alter-ego life of Laura Palmer, before her murder. At some point, out of shear morbid curiosity, I'll finish watching the sequel series, but, I'll be honest. I'm not really looking forward to it.

Great image quality, great packaging, always worth buying physical for certain titles. RIP Mr Lynch!
This is a great, all-in-one set for the series. I am currently watching on a 4k bluray player which is upscaling the standard bluray to 4k onto a 70in tv. The image quality, especially in season 1 and 2, is noticeably better than how I viewed the series last year on Paramount+. With so many titles switching streaming providers or vanishing entirely, it is great to build up a physical media collection for titles you want to return to every few years. The smallest issue: The numbering of the episodes in season 1 and 2. They are a bit different from what is on streaming. So if you are trying to watch at the same pace as someone else, it is best to go by episode title. Example: Episode 1 is episodes 1 & 2 stitched together. So episode 2 is technically episode 3 on streaming. But the packaging is really great. I recently got Doom Patrol and it is similar, but the plastic which holds the discs is flimsy and comes apart (one shipment I sent back because several discs were sliding around). However, this Twin Peaks set is very secure and easy to get to the discs you need. RIP David Lynch!

Say hello to the Log Lady
I remember coming across re-runs of twin peaks as a kid and not having a grasp of what the show was all about. Older me took the plunge and dived into the rabbit hole and boy was I just blown away how good the show is. The characters just grew on you. The original show kept you hungry and wanting more. The whole answering a question and ending up with a ton more was hit to the T. Im a fan of watching something that scrambles the brain a bit. The icing on the cake is the showtime episodes and revisiting twin peaks and see more of the weird odd David Lynch magic. Itโs weird and strange but it works on so many levels. Such a great purchase I will always cherish.
