Great, Loud, Clear Sound for a Great Price | Excellent Value | Read Review for Detailed Explanation to Answer Many FAQs
This lengthy description should answer a lot of the common FAQs I read while doing my research. After my exhaustive search for a sound system that I could use at my camper for "Movie Night on the Deck", I settled on this one. It packs the most punch for the price. I unpacked everything and set up all of the speakers according to their designated positions. It is extremely easy to figure out how to hook up the speakers to the subwoofer. The end of each speaker's cord has a different color (red, blue, green, yellow, & white), which matches the color of the RCA plug to which each corresponds (e.g. red-to-red, blue-to-blue, etc.) I arranged & spaced them out as intended, plugged in the subwoofer to the outlet, and then connected the subwoofer to my laptop via the provided RCA cable and an RCA-to-3.5mm adapter (not included). I used this adapter because my laptop has only 1 line-out port, and the provided RCA cable has a left & right.I measured the length of each speaker's cable. I did not count the RCA connector. I started with the cable and measured to the back of the speaker. Front Left = 57" (4'9") | Front Right = 57" (4'9") | Center = 58" (4'10") | Surround (Rear) Left = 114" (9'6") | Surround (Rear) Right = 115" (9'10"). I'm guessing that 3 of them should be approximately 57" and the other 2 should be approximately 114". The fact that they vary a bit indicates to me that it's possible that yours will vary in length too.The speakers all have a (light bulb-shaped) hole in the back for mounting them to the wall.My test involved putting in a DVD and playing the sound through my new speakers with the volume and bass up all the way. The beginning of this particular DVD ("Titanic") included the way cool LucasFilm THX notification. Wow! That made a great 1st impression! Next came the soundtrack on the DVD menu. The music sounded great too. I played a few minutes of the movie itself, which had the sound of a research boat, sonar, etc. The sound was clear and loud. This sound system should be more than adequate for showing movies on my deck. The area is 8' wide and 8-16' deep (depending on where the viewer will be sitting).Let me include the disclaimer that this is not designed for the outdoors. My deck is covered with sun shade sails, so I'm not concerned with dew for the 2-3 hours I will be using this outside.

Product ok. Customer service sucked
Bought this as a gift for my dad and he loves it. I didn’t give a five star because of the drama I had to go through getting it to work and dealing with Amazon.First, I found out the hard way I needed another component to get it to work. And when I found out I call amazon to make sure because a warning was nowhere on the box or in the description. Then I wanted to return it and asking one of the representatives to suggest one that was hookup ready since I couldn’t trust their description of the product, and she recommended me something that was 20 dollars more. I was going to get it until my husband told me that item I needed to make this surround sound work was only five dollars. I was very upset and told amazon how I was feeling and one of their employees hung up on me. So I called back and the second lady was nice but she told me that some employees only come to work for a check. And there is soooo much more to the story but I won’t get into. I’m just VERY VERY disappointed in Amazon. I’ve never been treated so badly by them before in my life. So, in all, just beware, you’ll need an axel cord to get this product to work.

Good buy for someone on a tight budget.
I like surround sound, and this was about the lowest price I could find. For the price, it is pretty good. no bells and whistles, but the sound is good enough for me. I live in an apartment with a paper wall between my neighbor and me, so I have not, nor will I ever, try to run it at the highest volume. The room I watch TV in is only ten by ten feet, so this system fills it with sound at low volume.Cons are:1. No remote, but when I can no longer get up and walk six feet to adjust the sound, I'll replace it if the nursing home allows me surround sound.2. The controls are located on the back of the subwoofer. It would be better if they were on the front where they would be easier to reach. On the whole, this is, for the price a good system. If I had been willing to spend more, I might have gotten a better one, but my budget is tight, so I am happy with this one. I would certainly recommend it for someone with a small room and a limited budget.

Great for price WOULD RECOMMEND!
The speakers without bass are really tinny and cheap but with the subwoofer on you couldn't really hear the tinny effect and sounded really nice for the price. the subwoofer isn't nothing fancy but can deep pretty deep with full bass it sounded almost like a theater the only thing breaking it back is the bass loudness and the speakers. the speakers are made with plastic with a cloth cover it has a removable stand but be careful with the cable it can rip very, very the speakers don't sound scratchy which is good just keep bass and its good. the subwoofer it made out a mdf thats on the thin side. the subwoofer gets very deep and is nice! I would recommend!NOTE: if your going to buy this please keep in mind to change the volume you have to change it on the subwoofer unless your tv changes the output volume mine didn't so I used this as a pc speaker setup.hope my review helps you :)
