The key person commented that it is an old lock based on the low serial number but I didn't see a problem with it, it looked brand new to me! And worked like new! Great deal.

This is a great security door replacement handle set. Regarding the way it locks: I understand the need for the inside lever to actuate in both locked and unlocked mode. So it'll take some getting used to when it locks me out a few times. My door has a heavy duty closer on it which will contribute to my grief. So, I'll probably use my head and find a convenient hiding place outside for one of the keys. There were a few other things I had to correct on my steel door to get the fit right, but totally expected and uncomplicated. Not this devices' fault. The vendor here offers these at an incredible price. Well below any others I've seen. I wish I had some more doors to put these into. The weight of this lock set has a good, substantial, feel. It should last a long time. Maybe longer than me......

It was installed about 6 months ago and today I noticed that a screw (at least I think it was a screw) under the inside lever handle either broke or fell off and the handle was left in my hand off the drum when I opened the door this morning. The lock works so I pushed lever back onto the drum but it loose and still needs to be fixed somehow. Before this happened it worked fine. Hopefully, I can find a screw to fit inside the opeing that holds the lever. I've had Baldwin locks before and they were of very impressive quality, that's why I bought this one. I guess they don't make them as good as they used to anymore.

I had to reverse the swing of a door installed in 2002 so I needed a Baldwin LENT locking mechanism. The new one from Saunderson Security LLC works great and was delivered a week early! I did swap the new keylock with the original one so my old keys still work!

I bought a Schlage for my front door 5 years ago, because it was (is) better quality than Kwikset. Nonetheless, it had been giving us problems for nearly a year--sometimes didn't even want to accept the key being inserted. And the finish has been visibly wearing off for the last couple of years. After a lot of research, I bought this Baldwin at a hefty discount, bringing the price near the same neighborhood as Schlage/Kwikset, over every other dealer I could find. It seems so much heftier and better made that it is almost unbelievable. Time will tell, but I don't expect to have to change it in 5 years for something else.

This is a very solid, substantial lock. However, be aware that as of the date of this review, the lock in the picture is "right handed" - for doors hinged on the right as you enter from the outside - but you the lock you will receive is left handed, for doors hinged on the left.
