Solid, imported, great value
I was frustrated searching for specs. on the log jacks (and peaveys) offered on the internet, so following is a description of this tool.I've held off on purchase of a log jack because either the price was too high or not sure if the construction was not as heavy duty as required for the job. Just got the Timber Tuff today so no field test yet. The tool is heavy duty. The jackstand (3/8"x 1" steel) bolts inside a rectangular tube of heavy steel (doubt that will ever fail). The base of the jackstand is welded to the ground rest and looks like it will hold up well (often the weak point). Attaching a piece of 2"x4" (u-bolts) to broaden the ground rest for muddy soils will be easy, but likely unnecessary because of the 1.25" diameter of the groundrest tube (10" long and unfortunately not plugged at the ends). The hook (3/8" x 1" steel) is cut from a single piece and inserts inside a channel welded to the steel post base (1/8" thick 2" steel tubing). It is held in the channel and pivots on a heavy bolt so pulling it off to regrind the point will be easy (will do that before first use). The spike on the post is a triangle of 1/8" steel and might be a design/build compromise but certainly should hold up and will take many sharpenings (I will file a sharper point on that also before first use). The post base is 11" long and the solid fiberglass handle is inserted into its entire length (no open tubing end to plug with mud like the groundrest tube). The fiberglass handle (51") looks bomb-proof and has a 16" plasticized rubber grip. The grip is relatively thick, but might loosen and twist with use (and need to be glued on if that happens). I always wear heavy gloves, so if the grip is any hassle, I will simply use the log jack without it (like my previous peavey). And finally, the yellow powder coat paint looks good.I prefer to buy products made in the USA, but not sure it is possible to even know where something is made these days until the box arrives with "made in China" on the side (this tool). This looks like one hefty log jack and at a very good price compared to the others on the market.

Helpful tool-Timber Tuff TMB-65
This tool is very helpful in handling tree logs and limbs, especially when you are alone and cannot get help. The tool easily lifts the logs to allow cutting so that the chain saw blkade does not hit the ground and dull the chain sharpness for cutting. It does have a weakness in the strength of the metal stand and log gripper that allows it to bend when holding a heavy log and weioght shifts from one end to the other. This is especially an issue the heavier the log you are trying to manouver. It is also mostly avoidable if the logs being levered and laying on a flat, more even terrain which will help avopid a shift in the log weight. All in all it is a very helpful tool in handling lumber cutting work. It may help if the metal pieces I mentioned were made from harder steel, however thaty may shift the stress to another part of the tool and cause other damage. Currently the stand and or the claw piece can be straightened if they are damaged during use.

Makes cutting logs easier
Had some pretty big logs and it was able to lift everything so I could get everything cut and move out.

log jack
I purchased the Timber Tuff TMB-65 timber jack to make it easier for me to cut fire wood. It has helped greatly, I can lift and cut a log into blocks without having any assistance; before having the timber jack,it was a struggle to keep from getting the saw in the dirt or I had to depend on someone to help put a block under a log while I lifted the log. I only wish the handle was longer, so that I would have greater leverage on heavy logs.Sincerely,FL

A couple suggestions
The Timberjack does what I bought it to do. I do agree with one of the other reviews that the leg is a little weak, although I have not bent it yet. It could be built out of a little heavier material. When I do roll the log up on the leg it would be nice to have a second person to hold it, because the log wants to tip back or come over and unhook. Overall it works fine and I would recommend it to a friend.

I like the ease of operation and what it does it ...
I like the ease of operation and what it does it get to log off the ground so you can cut it and keep your chain out of the dirt. I would've gave it a five but the end of the handle is so thick it's uncomfortable to grip .

love it
Cut 5 - 6 foot trees into #300 sections then reduce to firewood by myself. Could not manage it without the help of Mr. Green. It allows one man to do what it would take three to accomplish. Very sturdy -nothing one person could ever break.

thumbs up
This is a clever and helpful device. it enables you to pick up a felled tree/log/branch. It hold is off the ground so you can section it with a chainsaw. One "issue"; make sure you select the right size. I probably could have gotten away with the smaller version. It depends on width of the log. When I am using this on smaller logs the "claw" at the top does not always grab it. So I have to set the log in. No big deal.
