absolutely gorgeous colour lasted quite along time before it faded ordered this twice, the only thing is it stains everything for the first few days

Beautiful colour! Went on evenly and looks great! Realised red isn’t my colour anymore but honestly if you want to go violet this dye is fantastic! Shocked at the result!

My hair was already bleached and my original grey dye had washed out so this application was over the top of that. It stuck really well and came out slightly darker but that was because of my previous grey dye underneath. Pleased at how well it came out though. Easy to apply and doesn’t have a super strong scent like some box dyes. I’d definitely recommend only if you’re a natural bright blonde or have bleached your hair well into blonde/platinum. If your bleached hair is brassy this WILL NOT STICK. My roots are brassy and the dye didn’t stick to those parts. It also says on the side of the box it’s not suitable for those tones. So don’t even bother. Great product if you have the right hair and I do recommend and I will be purchasing again.

My natural hair color is deep dark brown, close to black. A few months before I dyed my hair with this product I had dyed it blue black (I think). Because my hair is long and fairly thick, I bought two boxes. I dyed my hair twice with the same dye and left 6 weeks before the second dye. The color did take after the first time, but was darker than expected. My hair looked dark brown when I was indoors and dark purple under the sun. That's why I dyed my hair a second time 6 weeks later. My hair now(see pic) looks closer to the color shown on the box. A lot brighter and more vibrant. It shows when I'm indoors and even more obvious when I am out. Although it does look bit reddish, which doesn't bother me whatsoever. I just wish I could have done a better job because on the picture the color looks a bit patchy... The whole kit was fairly easy to use. Except for the gloves. I really struggle to put my hands in them easily or comfortably! They are too small! My hands may be a medium size but definitely not a large. Smell... is a big minus! It was one of the worst I have had, having tried a number of hair dye products. Extremely harsh smell. Even when I had the window open, it was pretty strong still! I only wish it would have been practical to put on a mask lol The conditioner that comes with the kit is the best conditioner I have EVER used! It's like magic! My hair was an extremely dry and entangled mess after I washed the dye out. However, after applying only a peasized amount of their conditioner my hair was tamed, soft, smooth and sleek instantly! One tube lasted me three weeks and I used it every time I washed my hair. I will now be looking to see where I can buy just this conditioner!! Overall, above average hair dye for me. Fairly happy. Will try again.

This whole ordeal made me never to buy this dye again. First of I ordered two boxes because i have a lot of hair. One of the boxes was a bit banged up, but i didn't check it at the time because i didn't suspect anything. But when the time to use it came i noticed that the colour component was missing from it, so i had to order another box. The actual procedure of dying my hair went all kinds of wrong, starting with the gloves. Mind you at this point i own 3 pairs, only a single one would go on my hand and all the others just broke and were sticking to my hand before i could properly put them on. Then the mixed up dye is just super liquidy, it was impossible to work with it. I was transitioning from blonde to red, so i had to be sure i got every strand of hair, and this process was messy. Got quite a few stains in the bathroom from it. Getting it in my eye was not the dyes fault but it just made me more upset with the whole thing. The colour is pretty vibrant and after 3 washes it's still pretty. But never again. If you don't mind super liquidy dyes and you have gloves of your own i can recommend it still, because the colour is great.

I tried the John Frieda 5RV last time but was a bit coppery and I wanted something more plum coloured but still with a level 5 shade, so for my 3rd experiment with home colour since lockdown (I've been paying a hairdresser for 30+ years) I bought the L'Oreal Colorista in Violet. This didn't smell as nice as the previous brand I tried but was bearable if a little strong. I had the bathroom extractor on and the window open. The gloves are awful, too big, and too thin, like trying to do your hair with bin bags on. Application was easy, was bit worried after reading the reviews but it didn't really make a mess, bit flicked on the bathroom mirror but that was it. I just squeezed straight out of the bottle and ran it in lines over my scalp then massaged it in at the end, it didn't drip but I was only doing my root area and a few inches down. It looked very red rather than violet while it was on my hair. Was nervous to take the towel off and look after washing... but once blow dried I love it! I have quite pronounced grey roots now with a big patch at the front/side. The grey roots with this have come out as brighter pink highlights and I love it, more so than the hairdressers colour that covers them up! A few years ago I used to pay my hairdresser to put a panel colour in but I've got an inbuilt one now! So colour on grey is fine, just a bit brighter. Colour was fab! It looks different in different light. Very shiny violet colour, looks better than on the box. My hair is long but I was only doing roots to match in with a colour at the hairdresser and it was a great match, you can't see any difference.. £5 compared to £102 in the hairdressers, and it looks the same! I also love doing my own hair as I have more control in colour and frequency, it's been a revelation. Will definitely use this again. Will see how it lasts.. but I need to recolour every 4-5 weeks due to roots anyway. Will try and add some pics in different light.

True to the advertised colour, I love the results!

I was looking for a long lasting colour with vibrancy and came across this gorgeous shade. You apply to dry, unwashed hair and there are two methods for applying. One is all over colour developing for 30 mins (for a new look), or root touch up followed by the rest of the hair after 20 minutes. I went for the all over application as I was changing my overall shade. What I noticed was how quick the colour took! The gloves weren't the best, but for what you pay for, this isn't a huge issue. As a gel consistency, it can still get quite messy, but not dripping type messy. However, this took seconds to wipe and nothing stained. My skin was bright pink (head, arms and shoulders lol). I was dreading spending the next two days with such a shade, but again, this wiped off so easily with no stains. Once the colour application was complete, I rinsed the dye. It's messy, but again don't worry, it won't stain. Rinse until that water is as clear as it'll go! :) By this stage my hair felt so squeaky.. Very odd I thought! In fact, I couldn't figure if conditioner could help this as it was like solid squeeky lol. Anyway, I went for it and used the conditioner provided. Instantly my hair felt AMAZING. There are no words. The squeekiness was gone, as was the heavy feeling. It was like putting moisture on a protein treatment. The smell of the conditioner is seriously divine. Smells like a real salon product. I still can't get over how good it was. My hair feels amazing!! Colour has taken so nicely too.

Why is it again not available, after two months, and how can the price jump from 63aed to 296aed? I love the colour, but you make it impossible to get hold of and to be able to afford it
