100009 Allary Ultra Fine Stork 3-1/2 Inch Needlework Scissors

I practice embroidery at a living history museum, and I needed small scissors that would look thoroughly unmodern. At the same time, I'm a huge fan of Over the Garden Wall. These scissors are absolutely perfect, a nod to my favorite show and subtle, so as to not ruin the museum's illusion. I'm surprised how sturdy they are, and sharp too. I can easily cut thread with a single blade, if need be. One part of the beak comes to a very fine point: always helpful in cutting away bad small stitches. I've been using them daily for about a month now and have found no problems whatsoever. There are probably better quality scissors out there for embroidery, but I can't imagine why you would need better than these. I get so many compliments on them, and they do their job very well. Worth every penny.

I found these scissors while looking for items from a tv series called Over the Garden Wall. My daughter and Niece both loved the series. One of the episodes features these scissors and as soon as I saw the I knew they were going to be great Christmas gifts and the were.

The right size scissors for close needle work. I love the design because they're exactly like my 95 year old grandmother's. What can I say? I'm sentimental.

These scissors did not open or close smoothly and their cutting ability is even worse. My mother had a pair of scissors that looked very similar so I thought I would order an additional pair to have around. This wasn't the best plan I have ever had. If you think these scissors will work just like your mother's did years ago, well, you are in for a sad surprise.

Perfect for crocheting

these scissors are a bit sticky, and by that i mean they don't open and close smoothly–yet. i used them new and out of the package. i'm sure that in time, they will lose that sticky feeling. i terms of the cutting of thread, wow! i didn't have to close the scissors completely. i simply lifted them up slightly, and pow, the bottom blade simple cut through the floss. and i really like the fine point blades–they allowed me to get into very tight spaces to cut the floss. i am VERY content with the performance of these scissors :)

These are adorable and awesome and I love that they are small. However they are not very sharp. But I use them for yarn and it works well enough. It might do paper fine, but cloth is a no go, at least if you want or need a precise cut.

Perfect for hand embroidery and hand quilting. And so portable, I never leave the house without it.
