this is not an item with many reviews, but I would highly recommend this because it doesn't strive to be the all inclusive book on every weapon and detail of every weapon used in the war. What it does do is give a good amount of information on the large majority of WWII weapons. If you want more information you would need to find a book devoted to that specific interest of yours. Good add to anyones collection.

A companion piece to Ian Westwall's ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE WEAPONS OF WORLD WAR ONE, Donald Sommverille's ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF THE WEAPONS OF WORLD WAR TWO is a guide to the major weapons and equipment used by the combatants from 1939 to 1945. Topping out at 96 pages, Sommerville's book serves as a basic but nicely-illustrated overview of its subject. Published by England's Southwater Press, Sommerville's book divides its subject matter into chapters on 'Army Weapons,' 'Air Force Weapons' and 'Naval Weapons,' it provide short summaries of such weapons as fighters, mines, aircraft carriers, V-2s, artillery pieces, anti-tank guns, infantry weapons, infantry support weapons, WMD, midget subs, night fighters, depth charges, landing craft, jets, etc. This and the Westwall book will be of especial value to readers new to the subject. Recommended.

full of repetitions and riddles with proof errors..i love it..i like the pictures they are bonkers and dead good .

Try.s to cover to much in this book so you get just a little bit of information on loads of weapons, disappointing realy
