What you see is not really what you get. This is Good and Bad.
What you see is not really what you get. This is Good and Bad.If you review the product image...- there are 4 tools (Top Row : from Left to Right)- a Blue Plastic "Smudger"... this is used to pry the device open.---- this tool can melt a little due to the heat gun- a skinny pencil looking plastic device with 1 end being flat... kinda useful tool.---- I used it to hold down tape inside the device.- 2 black and white screw drivers. 1 is a torx driver, 1 is a phillips head.---- didn't have to use the torx at all.Bottom Row:- stick-on adhesive. I didn't get this but quickly realized the glass comes with adhesive already attached (this is a good thing)- a metal "smudger ?" It looks like a smudger but is use to prop open the frame where you have already removed most of the adhesive.--- this is useful because sometimes some of the adhesive is still there and the glass will "re-stick"------ I didn't get this tool :( .... but I deal with it. Hence the 1 star removal / subtraction.- 2 suctions cups - I'm guessing to lift the glass. I didn't even need to use them.NOTE: Inside the iPad.... the ribbon cable that is attaches the glass to the Ipad----- is a PIA to put back on.IMPORTANT NOTE: The product DOES NOT COME WITH A BEZEL. The bezel sits between and under the glass... between the glass and frame / body of the iPad.Go to Ebay or Amazon and search for iPad # Plastic Bezel... where # is 1, 2, 3 etc... your iPad version. It's purpose is to help keep dust out of the device. If you don't use a bezel... you will / might eventually get dust inside.Again. It doesn't come with a plastic bezel - and mine literally fell apart when I removed the broken glass from the frame,The plastic bezel is about $5 each. Order 1 with the glass... because you cannot permanently install the glass with unless you are ok with dust. What I did... was reattach all the cables - and screws without using the adhesive.I have a plastic wrap-around case that firmly holds the iPad.This gave me enough time (5 days) for the plastic bezel to arrive (and for me to install)- and I will still able to use the iPad.Of course - this means I had to take the iPad apart again- but you don't have to deal with the adhesive (which is the hard part)When the bezel arrived- I (quickly / easily because there is no adhesive) took apart the iPad- insert the bezel- remove / peel off the adhesive backing on the glass- seal up the ipad.If I had ordered a bezel with the screen - total time would have been about 1 HOUR.Because I had to take the device apart again (after getting the bevel)... total time was about 1.5 hours. You need to order a Heat Gun also. I purchased a Wagner HT1000 heat gun (from amazon)iPad Glass: $16.42Wagner Heat Gun: $21.97iPad Bezel: $5.00Total Cost: $43.39I would recommend a can of air to blow out the glass and dust- and a pair of thin surgical / exam gloves. (you don't want to leave finger prints or touch the digitizer). To have someone fix it... would've been my time to drive to the shop + about $100 in repairs.Now... since I have the heat gun - I can fix my other kids iPad (should the glass ever break on hers)- and you it will.If you afraid of breaking things... pay someone to do it for you.If you are ok / half decent / handling a screw driver... this is pretty easy and worth the time / money. The glass fits perfect on an iPad 3 64GB 3G.

Factory fit, easy to install. (Time consuming to remove original glass)
.This replacement glass fits like factory, and only you will know it was a replacement. The tools worked well, although the plastic ones are single use. I'd give 5 stars if they placed the glue tape on the glass for you, so all you had to do was peel off the protective tape and be done. Everything was in the kit as expected and arrived on schedule.I wanted to add for the other reviewers. You should expect that removing iPad shattered glass with a hair dryer is not fun and takes an hour or more. Masking tape on the broken screen helps keep glass shards from blowing everywhere. If your iPad aluminum is damaged, fix that first. No, glass is not flexible to fit your bent case.If the digitizer is "broken" and half the screen won't work, reseat the cable. The white line must be completely hidden by the connector to make contact.Do not remove the thin plastic border that protects the glass from the aluminum. That's supposed to stay in place, otherwise you'll have a gap and blame the glass for not fitting correctly. If you don't know if you can handle it, watch YouTube how to videos first.

Didn't work for my repair
Dropped my iPad on a corner and completely shattered the glass. No piece of unbroken glass was bigger than a quarter. So removing the old digitizer was like surgery. I had to wear rubber gloves to keep the millions of little shards out of my fingers and a helper ran a vacuum to catch most of the glass dust as I worked. It was VERY time consuming. It probably took an hour just to get the digitizer glass off. Once everything was clean I did a trial fit of the new digitizer. The corner where I dropped it was slightly bent and wouldn't let the glass sit flush. The back of these iPads are made of lightweight and very thin aluminum. The tools in the kit are not meant to straighten this. I'm a handyman and have a garage full of hand tools. So I improvised with various metal punches and a lightweight furniture hammer to gently open up the dent. But the finished edge of the aluminum is incredibly thin - probably a millimeter or two. So after reshaping, it looked like I opened it with a can opener. Rough and ugly. And the glass still barely sat flush. I managed to get everything plugged back in, applied the tape, and sealed it back up. But because there was still a very minor dent in the aluminum, the digitizer wouldn't sit completely flush. This made the touchpad controls jumpy and unusable.I'm sure if your dent isn't as severe as mine, you can make this work. If you hit the front of the glass and not the edges, you'll be okay. But if you dropped it on the edge an bent the aluminum, beware. This will be a frustrating DIY.

Good product
Came as described with all of the tools. This was the second time that we have had to replace our screen, which made it a lot easier to remove the old screen (I'm guessing the factory seal is probably much more difficult to remove than a 3rd party fix). Paid over $100 for someone else to do it the 1st time. 3M adhesive tape was pre-placed onto screen, and also came with an extra set of tape. Installed using a youtube video in about 90 minutes. So far it has been working great. The fit is fine, probably not as flush as the original, but I have to be inspecting it really closely to notice any small discrepancies. Much less labor intensive replacing an iPad screen than an iPhone screen (in my experience), just need to be careful around the wifi connector!

Tools are great. Next time I shatter the glass I'm just ...
I'll just say it was a headache. I don't even want to write about it anymore. But make sure you don't destroy your WiFi attachment next to the home button. The screen looks OEM but your finger will not run as smoothly over the glass. The 3m stickers seemed not as fresh and less sticky, also, no instructions on where to place them. You have to research on youtube just to find a reference.Tools are great.Next time I shatter the glass I'm just dropping a few hundred to buy a new one.
