Is the flushing really powerful ? Family uses lots of paper which causes great difficulty for most flushes.

It has a power assisted flush. But, as it has a bidet seat performing cleansing and drying duty, less (and, for many people, zero) paper is needed.

What is the warranty?

The K-5401 has a 3 Year Limited warranty with Kohler.

Does it have the “bowl pre-mist before use” function? Kohler’s own specification does not seem to indicate it does.

I would double check the model number. There are variations to functionality spending ion when it was made, please note I did not say when you purchased it. If it doesn’t have the pre-mist feature I would look in the spare arts Manuel for the nozzle art and call Kohler to ask if they would replace it as it is defective. Please be ready to show Kohler where you saw the re-mist.function. I hope this helps. Be certain your Veil is Kohler authentic. There are so many knockoffs and they are very misleading.

A plumber told me this had to be installed on a wood floor. Anyone have theirs installed on a slab?

No it cannot be installed without voiding your home warranty. If you drill without verifying the location of the rebar on your post tension slab, you risk compromising the structure of your slab.
