BachmannTrains - MAGNET with BRAKEMAN (1/card) - HO Scale

It works well for what it is. I find you really need to use it on a straight piece of track and it needs to be placed perfectly center under that track (right on top of the little plastic bump) I believe that plastic bump inside the track gives the magnet just the right spacing to do the uncoupling. I placed the magnet off to the side of the bump once before to try it out and every time my train would go over that track it would uncouple while moving. If you install it properly and you stop your train so that the coupling you want to disconnect is right over where the magnet is it does a very good job of disconnecting (they give you the little model figure to place at that spot as a visual to where you are supposed to stop.)

I too, at first, had a terrible time trying to figure out why this didn't work on my son's rolling stock. I kept researching and didn't find anything. Finally I accidentally uncouple a car from the engine. !!!??? After further tests, all my engines had magnetic couplers while none of the rolling stock had. Worked for every one of my 5 engines.... guess I'll have to change out the couplers for the rolling stock. Works great as long as the couplers are magnetic also......lesson learned. Hope this helps others.

The magnet didn't seem to work very well at first. Turns out the Bachmann couplers are rather "meh" - Kadee couplers work just fine with this magnet. I like the brakeman.

These work great! I bought them to remove "the hand of god" from my inglenook switching puzzle. Installing is easy and on the package. Worked with Kadee, EZ mate's and other similar couplers without issue.

if you order make sure you confirm it is ho or n scale. one does not work with the other. works great
