I would recommend this book to anyone who is going to be working with clients either as a social worker, therapist, crisis hotline worker, or any other position that would put you in a spot where you had to make life-saving decisions on behalf of another person because of a mental illness. The author gives step - by - step instructions on how to do specific crisis interventions and includes case studies as examples to better illustrate their point.

I have the digital version on my smartphone and it has been handy. I have used it twice in my professional capacity. Worth the cost if you deal with at risk populations.

This is a really useful, quick reference tool. It is written in a very accessible style making it easy to dip in and out of as required. I'm a Social Worker and this book stays in my tool kit. I've worked with trauma for many years but it is still helpful to have a quick reference tool to hand. Highly recommended.
