Totally Silly
This is a totally silly, campy craft book more for laughs in flipping through it than actual use. But I'm keeping it for some fun kitschy add-ons to birthday presents of 80s-era friends/family. So it's cute.

Disappointing - wanted to love this book but found it quite poorly executed
This seemed like it would be great on paper - 80's nostalgia is obviously a strong draw as people like myself love to be reminded of their formative childhood years. However the execution is somewhat lacking, and after a brief skim through it's a book I have no real interest to go back to - it's basically just the same few ideas repeated throughout the book, so cutting out paper dress up dolls or colouring in a picture gets tedious very quickly. There's some other projects - 3d paper models to make for example, but that will mean ruining the book unless you can be bothered to photocopy the pages first, and baking a pacman cake for example, but nothing that's actually inspired me enough to want to actually get up and do it. If the cut out/paint by numbers stuff has been in a separate pull-out section it would have been more sensible, but as it stands many of the projects ruin the other projects printed on the reverse side which strikes me as a bit pointless and poorly executed. Other projects are pretty impracticable (painting your kitchen wall to stick post it notes on!) and the "Jim didn't fix it for me" t-shirt idea now sticks out for all the wrong reasons too.On the plus side it only cost me a couple of quid, so I'm glad I didn't pay close to full price on release as it's all a bit lazy - the book equivalent of the "do you remember Spangles Stu?" routine from Lee & Herring

I bought this for my husband who is a fan ...
I bought this for my husband who is a fan of 80s music and culture, having been a child of the 80s. He was amused looking through it and faithfully coloured in the rubix cube, even making sure it the pattern was solvable! He is keen to make the 3D delorian! That said, I think the content is a little skewed towards the feminine side.

Get the photocopier ready
This is a jolly and fantastically put together book. I say photocopy, because you don't really want to hurt it by ripping it apart. A clever idea that will surely take you back down memory lane to the decade that can now proudly present itself as positively as the late 70s. Cool.

1980s revival
Great for a trip down memory lane. My cousin loved it as a birthday gift, she'll let us know if she manages any of the projects.
