Yamasa Soy Sauce

I'm normally a big fan of Pearl River Bridge, but I have to admit, this is really lovely soy sauce. Much much lighter than even the Pearl River (and certainly lighter than the Kikkoman most restaurants around here carry). A bit less salty, too. Just enough umami to make your tongue happy. My one wish is that the container didn't look so much like Kikkoman. It's functional, but I find it confusing at the store. Still, I guess that's what people are used to, so there you have it. I'm using this from now on for any Japanese cooking.

The US Navy sent me to Seattle in 1972. There, I discovered and learned to love Sushi and other Japanese dishes. At that time, the most popular soy sauces served with Japanese food were Yamasa and Kikkoman. Although I could get all the Kikkoman's I wanted, only occassionally would I run across Yamasa...usually in the little packets given with Chinese and Japanese take out. Then I found larger sizes on Amazon. Although my first order was the small bottle-just to make sure that it was as delicious as I remembered, my next order will be one of the larger sizes I saw advertised.

My mother is a soy sauce snob and buys this brand rather than the ubiquitous Kikkoman brand. After using Yamasa, I must admit it has a slightly sharper and deeper taste. Probably not noticeable or important for the average American but this is just a touch better.

I first tasted this soy sauce in my favorite Japanese restaurant. It is not available ins stores locally so I found it online. In my opinion, it is the best tasting I can find.

There are better tasting and healthier alternative s that do not contain wheat fillers and are 100% soy available.

It is the best tasting soy sauce available. It is Naturaly Brewed so no sodium benz. Just water, soy and alcohol.I've tried many Soy sauces and Tamari, the only thing comparable is Wegman brand and this is better . If you can find this at your local store it will be a little cheaper, but not many places carry this.

Best soy sauce around. I can’t seem to find it easily in stores so I order it here.

For me, it is a very nice soy sauce dispenser. (If I just by a dispenser, they all seem to be more expensive. )The soy sauce tastes okay, but nothing special.
