Excellent choice
We live off the grid in the middle of the woods, we use this headlamp daily especially in the winter and when our Livestock dogs are alerting us to a predator. They have a serious beam that helps to light the way to the barn and can see quite a distance. Very happy with our first sets, we bought more for back up but it’s been a couple years since our first purchase, we haven’t had to use the back-ups yet. Great purchase.

Best Headlamp!
This is my second Petzel. My first lived 15 years over hill and dale and through antics with my horses, to finally rest in October after a fall while bouldering Kaiser Pass.Bright lights, durable, comfortable, pretty upgraded colors, ( mine is mint green) and no tricks on my newer model. German made.

Very comfortable!
I didn't need a new torch, but I wanted one. The one I used most had these wacky straps and it was hard to adjust and just kind of awkward on.This is a sleek head torch! It's light and comfortable. The straps adjust easily, making it so easy for me to adjust it for a hat and no-hat application. The strap holds are smartly positioned -- I have long hair and there's no tangling or tearing of my strands even when I adjust it WHILE WEARING IT.It flips easily between low, medium and high and the red beam is a nice feature. It's a daily driver for me -- I walk a dog around my unlit county subdivision in Colorado every night. In December, it's dark at 5 p.m.This will be a great piece to carry in my day-hike satchel ... you just never know when you might be hiking out in the dark! A well-lit trail makes all the difference.I like that it uses three AAA batteries, though that size isn't my favorite. (Not as useful as the AA) A few days after getting it and using it, I decided to upgrade to the rechargeable battery, which doubles the price of this unit. It's nice to have the option for AAA or rechargeable. (It even comes with Duracell batteries.)I didn't love paying $60 for a headtorch, but I'm really happy I have a $60 headtorch now!

Durable and bright!
Hiked the whole Appalachian trail with this headlamp. Plus many other hikes and night bike rides. Has lasted me 4 years! Just bought my second one.

Better than the newest model
We originally ordered the new model of the Tikka and found it very difficult to open actually impossible. Also, it just did not feel as durable or as well-made. Since we also ordered the old model for another family member, we returned the new model and ordered this one. This one was the same high-quality as the other one we purchased. I’m not sure why this manufacturers feel the need to re-design. Some thing that is already good.

Included AAAs exploded while in use.
After 13 years I needed to replace my old petzl headlamp. This one fit the bill and overall I was very happy with my purchase. However over the first week I was using it, it felt dim and over 2 separate days two of the AAA batteries included with purchase exploded—while in use, it sounded like a loud singular clap and I could feel the pop against my forehead— I recycled the last one. It is difficult to see in photos but the negative end of the battery is unsealed. I could slide my thumbnail under that point. Once it had new batteries it was brighter and no more pops. I absolutely recommend this lamp, but maybe skip the free batteries.

Bright and Versatile
Love this light. You can buy extra rechargeable battery packs and use AAA batteries if you needed to. Charging is quick, battery time is adequate, a little short on high, but I rarely need that much light, so medium generally works.Great light functions.

Great Little Headlamp
I use headlamps for night hikes and camping. I've had to replace a few headlamps due to the batteries leaking and sticking inside the lamp, from sitting too long without use, making the headlamp unable to use. I saw that this one had a rechargeable battery, which I did need to purchase separately, but I like the fact that now I do not have to worry about wanting to use the light and then finding that it is broken due to the batteries leaking (as long as I use the rechargeable option). It does also have the option to use regular batteries which may also be nice if backpacking or camping and there is not any way to plug in. I used the lamp last night and I also like that it is not super big and bulky to carry around and has a red light.

Torcia molto luminosa
