SorelWomen's Winter Carnival Waterproof Boot for Winter

Very warm & cute!
I live in the Midwest and snow can be expected every winter. I was looking for a warm boot that was easy to get on and held up through the cold & snow. Here are a few things I noticed in my first month of using the boots:1. I bought my regular shoe size. No complaints, the fit is good, snug with thicker socks. I keep the laces tied a bit loose so I can slip the boots on & off which make it a bit more practical for everyday use.2. After my first use, I almost thought I was going to have to return the boots. I wore them out all day and the back cut into my ankles really bad. After a few more tries the boots broke in a bit more and now I really don’t have any issue with it hurting my ankles.3. They are warm. We have been dealing with some single digit lows with windchills below zero the past week and my feet have been comfortable in just wool socks & the boots. The rubber keeps the snow from getting through which also helps keep them warm.4. They are big, clunky and heavy but that can be expected. Even so, they are still pretty cute and fashionable. I love the plum color, goes with everything!Over all I think they are really nice boots. Great for every day use in the snow & cold of winter. Just beware they make take a few uses to break in and might cut into your ankles at first.

Not great for slush or ice
First off I live In Alaska after wearing them for a week or so here's my review. Yes, they kept my feet somewhat warm( could be warmer) with thick socks on. They have ZERO grip though and you will look like Bambi on ice trying not to fall. The liners constantly fall out of the boots which is annoying. I don't know if that's meant to happen or not none the less it's an inconvenience. They look cute and are waterproof to a certain point like most boots.PROS: Cute, waterproof, great for snowCONS: Not warm enough, liners fall out when you take your boots off, ZERO GRIP, Sizing is large i recommend going down a FULL SIZE.All in all these boots are OKAY and are not meant for "winter" if you live in the lower 48 these may be great for you. For my Chicago Wisconsin Minnesota Ohio any place that has snow in frigid temperatures you have been warned.

Don’t give up one them too soo
So after reading other comments I was nervous that these boots would not be comfortable. When I first put them on, I had the ankle pain others were talking about and I was so disappointed. But after wearing hem around the house for a while I noticed the boots loosening up. I was torn on keeping them but decided to just keep them and I’m glad that I did. Living in PA, wouldn’t you know the next day we had snow. I wore them to the bus stop and they kept my feet warm and dry. Having worn them a few times now, the uncomfortableness around the ankle is completely gone. I wear a 7.5 and ordered a 7.5. They are wide in the toes, but I like it so I can wear thick socks.

Great so far! Will update as the winter progresses.
These boots are so cute and comfortable! I just purchased the pewter boots in a size 8.5, which is my normal size. They are roomy in the toes, which is perfect for layering socks and boot socks when it gets really cold. They adjust around the ankle with the strings, and the fur on top keeps any chaffing from happening--definitely makes them very comfortable. They keep your feet warm in -25 degree weather, and I'm hoping these will keep my toes toasty this winter in Chicago, which is supposed to be terrible. I'll post an update as it gets colder and snowy!**UPDATE**We just had our first big snow in Chicago (7 inches), and these boots are phenomenal! I can wear just regular running socks and my feet are so warm, it doesn't even feel like I'm outside. I even stood in the 7 inches of snow for an extended period of time playing with my greyhound, and never felt the cold through the shoes. They wiped clean and I was able to kick the snow off easily with no tracking in our condo building. The laces are easy to use, even with gloves on (not too short to use with thick gloves), and they dry quickly as well. The fur on top never got wet, and repelled the water well. And I have no signs of scuffing around the boot either. They are perfect!**UPDATE #2**Today in Chicago we had a windchill of -11. I did wear two pairs of socks and only after an hour of walking downtown did my toes start to feel cold. However, I outlasted my friends! Best boots and still 100% satisfied.

Much better than the Joan of Arctic boot!
I originally ordered the Joan of Arctic boot which I returned because they were big and clunky and just looked silly on my smaller frame (5'1" 114#). I reluctantly ordered this winter carnival boot and was THRILLED with it! They are definitely lighter than the Joan of Arctic and a little shorter. The fleece liner is super soft and comfy and I did not experience any pinching in the heel area WHEN I LACED THE BOOTS TIGHT! If I left them loose, I did get the discomfort in the heel area but I think this is because it just allows the boot to move around too much. Now for the sizing. I went back and forth between the 6 and 6.5. I can wear either depending on the brand of shoe but am closer to a 6. Based on the reviews and everyone stating they ran a little large, I ordered the 6 and would agree, they probably run large but the 6 fit perfect even with a thicker pair of socks. I actually can't wait for it to snow now so I can wear them!!

Painful. Wish i'd returned them.
A little disappointed in these, for the money i spent. The fit seemed OK for a couple weeks, of trudging from home to work - only involving a couple parking lots of snow and slush. Waterproofing is fine. But the fit around the upper ankle has become painful after a couple hundred yards of walking. Have tried all thicknesses of socks. Too late to return. I bought them for a trip to Iceland, and certainly won't bring them due to the discomfort. These will only be useful to me for short term snow and ice conditions. A surprise to me, which became another HUGE annoyance, is the entire inside of the boot comes out when you take them off. You need to unlace them all the way first, and loosen the laces up a lot, to pull your foot out without popping the inner layer out. It's the last thing you want coming into the house, with a bunch of heavy groceries.

Awfully designed product
I spent ages deciding on these, due to reviews on sizing etc. I purchased a UK6.5 because I'm usually a UK7 in boots and some shoes depending upon brand. Sizing was good. The biggest bonus I thought would be the inner sherpa lining that is removable, considering I work outdoors and stand alot in the cold I really was pleased to read reviews about the boots keeping feet warm. Disappointed. After 1hour of wearing these and doing very little walking I had pain on both my archilles and markings appeared. The start of blisters I assume. In my experience this depicts a poorly fit/designed boot. Althought my toes had room to move and socks I wore were thick enough I couldn't stand the pain. Additionally my feet were cold!!!!! I couldn't believe this. I was so excited and spent so long researching to find the right boot that would last and do everything it claimed to do. In the end I've returned these for a refund and purchased a cheap pair of standard boots locally which are easy to wear and keep me warm! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Believe the reviews!!!

Just short wellies with a felt insert.
For those of you in the UK these are just like short wellies really, with a felt insert. There is no support from the boot at all. Just a rubber base glued to a nylon ankle tube. Very flat to walk it/ no foot support. Ok grip in snow, but not as good as my walking boots. Absolutely AWFUL on ice , much worse than walking boots, more like ice skates! They are quite wide so good for a pair of thick socks and do keep feet warm & hight stops snow getting in. I've used in -10C so far and no cold seepage at all. So, warm and relatively comfy standing around or short walks, 1 or 2 miles, but disappointed with the grip ( when do you get snow without ice?) And really basic construction mean only suited to short walks/ standing around.

Very slippy soles...
These boots are very cosy. I've only worn them twice but I find the back a bit hard and uncomfortable when walking. The soles are also very slippy, which I wasn't expecting. I really thought they'd have good grip (I've shown them next to my Hi-Tec snow boots to compare the soles). They're expensive boots so this is disappointing.

Practical, comfortable, warm and waterproof - a good piece of kit for winter walking
I live in the Scottish Highlands and walk my dogs everyday in all weather conditions. I was looking for a pair of boots that would be waterproof, easy to walk in, and with enough grip for snowy and icy conditions. The boots are really warm without making my feet feel too overheated. I found the size to be spot on, perfect because it allows me to wear a pair of thick walking socks too. My real concern after reading the reviews was whether the boots would be heavy and uncomfortable. I am pleased they are not heavy to wear and have a soft sole, unlike wellingtons which give me sore feet when I walk for any distance. Compared to hiking boots they are also lighter. So far my feet have remained comfy and dry and I am happy with my purchase.
