SEIKO MECHANICAL Watches are INACCURATE!!
I'll start by saying I really like the look of this watch and I've received plenty of compliments as well. Construction feels rock solid, so why the 1-Star review?? If you judge a timepiece by it's ability to keep time, then STAY AWAY from this watch and probably all of SEIKO'S MECHANICAL watches!!! After noticing accuracy issues with this watch, I contacted Seiko's servicing center to learn that the accuracy tolerance for Seiko's mechanical watches is plus or minus 20 seconds a DAY!! That means that over the course of 1 week, your watch can be off by 2 minutes and 20 seconds; 2 weeks - almost 5 minutes off!!! How often do you expect to reset the time on a watch?? According to Seiko, it'll be working just fine!! There is absolutely nothing published by Seiko's product or marketing information that led me to believe this timepiece wouldn't actually keep time!! In fact, I'm pretty certain that I wouldn't have purchased it at all if Seiko noted it's accuracy in the product details. This isn't my first watch, but it is the least accurate I've ever owned; it's also the first Seiko and first mechanical watch I've owned and it'll probably be the last. For the record, after carefully tracking of this watch from 2/1/2016 to 3/6/2016, my watch is actually off by 32 seconds a day! That's 18+ minutes off in just over 1 month with daily wear for 14-15 hours per day. I've owned it since June 2015; so why did it takes me so long to figure this out you might ask?? Well, that pretty easy - the watch stopped just about every weekend, often I'd take it off Friday evening and put it back on Sunday (to go to church) but it had already stopped forcing me to reset the time. Don't expect anything close to the claimed up to 41 hour "power reserve." In my case, I can send it in for servicing, but my expectations have been seriously altered since learning about Seiko's accuracy threshold for their mechanical watches. If you're interested in owning a fancy men's bracelet that pretends to be a watch, buy this or any other Seiko Mechanical timepiece!!

I bought this watch because the materials are visually impressive and wanted a nice "bling" watch that retains all of its class
Currently giving this a 4 star because it is extremely impressive in person. I should note that it doesn't over days of the week or month (#) but that should be obvious when buying the piece. I bought this watch because the materials are visually impressive and wanted a nice "bling" watch that retains all of its class. This watch does that, and offers the open face features of the gear box on the front (small) and back (large). I think this watch has one of the best designs I've seen in terms of numerals, bezel, face, and bracelet and the blue blue dials are a nice accent that aren't overly colorful unless in the right light.Design & Style: 5 starsFeatures: 2 stars (its bling remember)Ease of Time Viewing: 4 starsDurability: (we will see, just bought it)

Wonderful watch
After doing a good amount of searching for a watch that ticked all the boxes I was looking for I found the beautiful Seiko SSA241. It looks great in pictures but when I saw it in person I was just stunned. The level of craftsmanship and quality is fantastic. From the solid feel of the case to the textured background on the dial it just oozes quality. The see-through window to observe the movements looks fantastic and the hands have a very nice and subtle blue color that changes from blue to black depending on light. The crystal being sapphire is quite rare to find at this price point and just one of the many features that make this watch such a great value. It's really cool watching the gears do their thing while the second hand smoothly glides 6 times per second across the watch face. I was gifted this for my birthday and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommended!
