In this book, Jack Porter explains how to start a used car business and goes into details about the different aspects that goes into starting up and running this type of business. I like reading about how to start a business and thought it was a good idea to read about different kinds of businesses to gain knowledge about how to do so. It is helpful to read advice from someone who has 30+ years experience!

This book was really detailed. I have for years thought about this business due to my love of older cars. The logistical nightmare of setting it up really blocked me. Jack Porter explains in detail all the regulations for every state and using this work as a guide you can set this business up from the comfort of your home! I had no idea you could do that. This is a very handy guide for those starting out in the industry or anyone who is struggling within it!

The book was okay. However, what I liked about was that, even though used car dealership start-ups is not really my thing, this book taught me the values of the give and takes to start a business or work with other businesses. I work with international rural community developments, and now I understand what it takes to develop business objectives with organizations!

Nothing in this book anyone with any experience in the business doesn’t already know.

Not worth the time to read. Very shallow and not very informative. Plus licensing requirements for my state were not right.

Growing up I used to hang out at a used car lot that my uncle owned. I was fascinated by all the cars and his business, which he kept going for over 40 years. I knew he made a decent living over there, but I never really thought about it as a business for myself until here recently. This book breaks down the process of starting a car lot business into easy steps, which even I can follow. The book goes as far as to list licensing requirements for all 50 US states and other regulations someone just starting out will need to learn. To start out small, it really doesn't cost what I thought it would, I seriously need to give this business more thought. Great read and simply a great guide for anyone looking to break into the used car business.
