Yes to all: it will support modem, phones, and fax machines. This is a standard RJ11 connector and any device that uses standard phone equipment will work. In addition it's what's called 4-wire, which means if you have two lines on one phone cable it will work on both lines. (Each phone line needs two wires to operate.) Of course if you don't have dual lines it will work just fine with single line subscribers, but for those who are paying for two lines on their service, this supports that as well. Bonus.

Q: on a splitter can i use corded phone on one jack and a cordless phone on the other?

Yes, the base station of the cordless phone will have a traditional phone cable that will connect to this splitter, just as it does the current wall jack.

Q: Will this work for xfinity internet phone service?

I used this to split Spectrum home phone to a cordless in the same room as the modem and plugged the other side into the house jack so the rest of the wired phones in the house worked. If the xfinity has a POTS (plain old telephone service) RJ11 jack this would allow you to send that phone line to 2 locations. 3 locations if you used both splitters.

Q: Will this work for my toshiba db5022-sd model land line at work? i need it so i can call a translation service with a patient from my office

To be honest with you that will not work cuz I have one and it doesn’t work at all
