JBL Carbine Series Spearfishing Spearguns

I was really excited about this speargun/pistol. I own multiple JBL products for spearfishing including spear guns and pole spears. I recently purchased this item and used it the night when I received it. At first it looks small and fit well in my hand. It feels cheap with thin plastic grips. Band wasn't a big trouble to pull back and it held well. But when gun does fire in the water it is very very weak, I have shot 3 fish with it at close distance but it all bounced off like nothing happened. It is a very weak speargun, and I do not like it at all. I would not recommend this to of my friends.

The gun is not powerful enough to put thr spear through any fish. Shot at least 6 different fish and the spear bounced right off the fish. Bought a 3 prong trident tip thinking thag would help and only had the same result. Gun ruined my spearfishing trip. Would have had at least 6 fish in the boat. Returning it for my money back.

This is a decent speargun for beginners and short ranged targets. I got this for my 16-year-old nephew and he's enjoyed it. If someone is looking to get more than calico basses or rock fish I would recommend getting a bigger well-adapted speargun.

This is exactly what I was looking for, great for small to medium fishing in a very tight places where a bigger gun can't be use.

Small, sleek and hard to load(which I like). Not too impressed with the fact that the shock cord looked cheap and looked like a kid tied it to the spear and gun(no crimps). The spear did not come with a tip, but a sharp point with a bit of thread, suggesting that "something is missing". They could have at least thrown a tip in the mix!!! I now have to spend more on a tip with a 6mm thread. Had I been made aware of this, I would have bought a tip at the exact same time as not to have to wait another week before using the gun or I would have bought another "complete gun". There is no bungie on the shock cord so I'll need to buy too or make one.The handle is plastic yet somehow feels strong and so is the safety, yet the trigger is aluminum. Great for small to medium sized fish.I'm only giving it two stars because of the shock cord, bungie and lack of propper tip!(Maybe the guys at JBL will send me one out of sympathy?)

Great for shooting lionfish and lobster.It is difficult to load. Practice onshore in shallow water. Get your back muscles involved more so than your arm muscles. When I first tried loading it, I thought it must be defective. It'll go, just practice. Do not practice on land, the spear will rebound right at you.The string is a little short. You'll need to get closer to fish than a lot will let you. I would lengthen the string and look into getting a better tip.For the price and size, great value.

very small as the name says excellent to finish a speared fish

The spear literally bounces off the fish from about a foot away. Don't buy this garbage. This is the McDonald's happy meal toy of spear guns.

Nice standard bungee cord speargun with one cord. But it is overpriced

Nifty little product

I Haven't tried it out yet but everything seems to work well.Elastic is tight but I don't think I will have any problem with loading.

The gun is light and easy to travel with but the elastic band to charge the gun is too tight so it's impossible to do it in the water.
