ProCase Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Case, Standing Cover Folio Case for 2015 Galaxy Tab A Tablet (9.7 Inch, SM-T550), with Multiple Viewing Angles, Document Card Pocket (Black)

Construction, look, feel, functionality, tablet fit, ease of insertion and removal... All 10s, across the board. I can't tell you how many cases (over $300 worth) I've bought for my tablet looking for something that would optimize my tablets's functionality and protect it fully. It's home now. My requirements are listed below. Previous shopping always required that I figure out which ones I could live without - by trial and error.NOTE: The very last requirement below is a new one that I didn't know was an option until I got this and started using it as a book.My requirements (given - high quality leather-look, tailored)1) Rugged because I have stone floors in my house. My last leather case was getting scuffed and didn't protect my last tablet when it landed flat on the floor) Ended up buying the otter box defender, but access was an issue. This has stiff, solid cover that fits like a glove with no elastic / stretching material to allow it to shift on impact. The leather "box" takes all the impact. It's like putting it in a box, and the closure for the case is solid leather secured by Velcro under the sleeve box, and protected by the binding. It has already taken a few hits against my stone floors. The first 3 times I held my breath when I picked it up. I had to replace my pre-otterbox case because the mini-shards got all through the case and wouldn't release (it was like touching fiberglass).2) Slim so I can drop in my purse, briefcase, hold in a meeting / read without being bigger than a tablet. This is beautifully bound with hand-sewn 1/8" seams. The camera is "protected" from finger prints and scratches because the cover ends up being 1/4" deep at that point (ingenious, folks) and exactly the right size. Seriously fits like a glove as far as the footprint and hand-holding perspective.3) Able to take advantage of all tablet features very easily (I'm a type-A personality). Everything is instantly accessible. The sleeve fits the tablet face exactly like the defender, except the proximity sensor is not obscured. I can close this and the proximity sensor automatically locks and turns of the screen. This had not been consistent with my cases. I have a border around the back and app "buttons" and can hit them dead on by touch (beloved otterbox feature). My camera can be a accessed discreetly, just open the case enough so my finger tip can reach the home button, hold and done. Trying to swap the SD card in the otterbox required disassembling the case. Not here. I bent two microcables because of the rubber flap to insert the charger. And, I didn't need dust rugged protecting, just drop protecting.4) Able to switch cases easily. Every once in awhile, you want a "naked" tablet to fit in tablet pockets in your daytimer, or in bed. Otterbox, it was a fight to get it out of the case. This thing fits so well I don't want to take it out to curl up with a book on bed, because it'll slip out of my hand. To slip it out, just undo the hidden Velcro strip (between the tablet and the sleeve so the tablet helps secure it) and slide (less than 2 secs but 2 hands)5) Slim pocket to hold papers. You know the ones you occasionally pick up at an impromptu meeting, doctor's, store. I wanted a pocket, but they are only available as part of bulky daytimers. If I wanted to tuck then in the case, they had a built-in stand, and folded at the halfway point. Envelopes tucked in there stuck out just enough to get curled when you carried it around. Your only option was to fold them and set them on the tablet face inside the case (watching out for staples), and wait for them to fall out when you picked it up from the wrong side.There is a very slim daytimer "desk" size pocket on the outside. 6 sheets slide in easily one, handed (3 folded pages), you can double that if you raise the pocket and slide them in.6) Able to stand it up. I was worried that the brackets to hold the angle weren't going to hold it except on a flat surface. Again, they are ingenious (see #7)... The leather "ribs" hold it at an angle when the surface it's sitting on is at an 80° angle! Perpendicular to the desk, and it comes out.7) "Snap shut" case. To me this is completely ingenious... The side binding doesn't just fold (flop) over. All the ones I've tried you know - it's like a curved gap you could almost store a slim stylus in. It fits tight. There is hard board in the side binding to square it to the tablet case... And the three ribs for the stand fit perfectly into the space for the tablet. They help stabilize the cover so that it doesn't bend into the sleeve (would wear / scuff over time) and so that the cover goes exactly as farover as it needs to "snap" shut. The only "downside" is that because it fits so perfectly, just picking it up to go with me, and closing the cover the kitchen (by habit) locks the screen. It wakes up automatically, but then I have to take the time to enter my pin!! Really? (Yes, I'm laughing... That's a good feature.)

has the case now for nearly 6 years and still very good

I recently upgraded from the old Nexus tablet to the Galaxy Tab A, so I needed a new case. I spent quite a lot of time searching Amazon for just the right one. Finally, I settled on this one, and crossed my fingers that it would be as nice as it appears in the listing. I wasn’t disappointed.First of all, it’s specially designed for my 2015 Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 inch. I hadn’t realized until I was searching for cases that this tablet was designed differently than the others. The leather appears very classy and it looks like it’s going to hold up well. The interior is soft enough that it won’t scratch my tablet. It holds my tablet securely (there’s no way it’s going to fall out), and it gives me access to all of my buttons, camera and charging port. It has a magnetic close feature that puts my tablet to sleep when I close the cover, and wakes it up when I open it.The case comes with a stylus/ink pen and holder. This is not something that I would have ever thought I needed – I always used my fingers on my old tablet - but I quickly realized how clean it keeps my screen. No more smudgy fingerprints all over the place. This case has a pocket on the front for tucking papers or a small notepad. It has a built in stand feature – just fold back the case and you have three different angle options (this is only for landscape viewing).I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and I’m still really happy with it. If you’re searching for just the right case like I was, I feel confident in recommending this one.

This is a sturdy case and love the color.

It looks great, and fits perfectly, but my case doesn’t seem to have magnets. It doesn’t stay closed, and unlike the case this one replaced, it doesn’t turn the screen off when closed.It’s okay for the money, but the worn out 10 year old case it replaced, still stayed closed and would shut the screen off too.

My mom and I have been through a few tablet cases, and just from ware and tear this one has really been one of the best we've used. The slot on the outside is super useful for when we need to put paperwork or notes in it. The levels of where you can mount the screen is nice and I actually feel like our tablet is going to last a while. It doesn't feel like it's going to disintegrate like the previous one we've had. It's also super secure inside too. I love how easy it is to take the tablet out and clean it compared to the three holders we had before this one.I'm tempted to get another one just as a backup.

We bought our Galaxy Tab A at Best Buy and wanted to get a case like this to not only protect the device but use as a stand to tilt it up. The one at B.B. that was made specifically for the Tab A was $54 ! I thought:Wow! but purchased it, took it home to use it and found it was Not what I expected. There was nothing to hold it in the case except for two little plastic "buttons" that met up with Two spring loaded holes on the back of tablet that DID NOT lock it in place.I could see where the tablet could just slide out of it while carrying it if given half a chance. We took it back. So then I found this case at a MUCH lower price:less than 20 bucks! So I really wasn't expecting much. Well let me just say,this case was perfect! The tablet fits snug in leather-like frame that allows easy access to all of the buttons and ports. It will never just slip out. The outside is a slightly padded faux black leather with an outside pocket. It folds over the tablet like a book without the use of magnets ( I always thought it counter intuitive to place magnets over wafer thin hard drives). It is stitched nicely and folds so to can tilt the screen to your face in two different angles. Oh yea,It come with a rubber tipped stylus that doubles as an ink pen. Nice little bonus I didn't know I would like so much. lol! So I would have to say this was a great value that I believe will last a long time.

What I like is that it has a pocket for slips of paper I need.

Soy de México, este es un excelente producto. La funda llego 1 antes de lo esperado en óptimas condiciones y bien cuidada. Excelente y gran detalle por parte de Procase por incluirte un boligrafo muy bonito y la parte trasera del boligrafo funciona para la pantalla tactil. Procase es la verdad un excelente producto.

Me encantó esta funda (galaxy tab A 9.7), la calidad es buena, se acomoda bien la tablet y viene con un lapicero que se puede usar para escribir en papel o para navegar en la tablet (como un mouse, puedes dar clic en la pantalla)
