I cannot recommend this seller enough! I initially sent them a batch of old DV tapes, and the results were absolutely phenomenal. The video quality they were able to pull from those aging tapes exceeded all my expectations. The colors are vibrant, and the clarity is fantastic. It’s like watching these family moments for the first time again. Encouraged by that success, I sent in a collection of old, delicate printed photos. I was worried about the quality, but they absolutely did not disappoint. The digital scans are sharp, color-corrected, and beautifully preserved. Beyond the outstanding quality of the final product, the entire process was seamless. The service is incredibly fast, and their pricing is very affordable, especially considering the professional results. What truly set them apart was their communication. I have to say this was such an easy process - I wish I had transferred my tapes sooner. I have been wanting to do this for years and I'm glad I did. The process was easy and the communication was great. The cost was cheaper than the big companies. I would highly recommend!!!

Digital Threads digitizating service is a SCAM. I ordered via Amazon, received a box with a piece of paper order form that i completed, enclosed order form with video tape, sent via UPS to the service, and then NEVER heard anything back. I emailed the Support@Digital Threads email address 3x and Never received a response. I contacted Amazon 2x, and on the second time was told that Amazon cannot contact Digital Threads either. So now I am out a video tape from 1995 with important family information due to Amazon selling a scam service.

I found 8 Hi8/8mm video tapes from the mid 1990's - early 2000's in my house. I no longer have the video camera and therefore, had no way of checking to make sure I had all my family videos digitized from that era. So I thought, better to be safe than sorry...I started searching for a way to digitize these 8 tapes just to make sure. Here's what I found by using this service: - Was it seamless? Seamless enough. There were a few bumps in the road, but because their customer service and quick replies were excellent, there was no problem at all. - When you order, you will receive a small box with a return label inside it. I wanted to put all 8 tapes into one box (and get charged later for 7 of them because buying the box technically means you bought the right to get 1 tape digitized), but the return label is only good for up to 1 lb. My box with 8 tapes weighted between 1-2lbs. My solution: I bought 2 boxes and sent 4 in each. I do wish this information was available on the amazon listing. - I am not enamored of their payment method. They send a link for you to give them your credit card number for anything above and beyond the amazon listing that they do. I received emails later on that they charged me for the additional tapes to be digitized and for the return shipping (which I opted in for). I would rather be sent a bill and pay for it rather than a seeming carte blanche ability for them to charge anything. However, they were honest and everything worked out fine. - I found the cost to perform this service to be outstanding. I did comparison shop and almost didn't digitize my 8 tapes because I found the competitors' prices to be way too high. For the price they charge here, I moved forward. - Speed of service was also excellent. I believe I had everything done within 2 weeks (including having the tapes returned to me). - Quality of product - excellent. If you are looking for them to give you crystal clear renditions for tapes from 20-30 years ago, you are in the wrong place. I wanted a simple digitization and that's what I got. I would definitely use this service again.

Wow! What can I say. I tried this and paid for extra tapes. Now I order on their website for $5 an 8mm tape plus tax and if you need USB or DVDs to have it saved. I was locally paying $25-$30 for a tape so I only did a few, now I’m taking care of them all and for family members. I was able to watch on a Sony player my sister has kept in great shape, but couldn’t share with others. Having them as an MP4 file means I can share with anyone and move within the file easily. To see and share 20-25 year old videos is so great. Everyone is so excited. Now you are probably asking, “well, how is the quality?” The sound and video quality is incredible, like I’m there recording it live again. The ordering process, payment process and communication is all superb! The Dropbox they save to works flawlessly. Couple clicks and you have them saved to wherever you want. This company was overall a good company to work with. They sent one box for me to return one item back for them to scan as a sample. I then boxed my other items and sent as well in another box. The box that they sent was to be returned to them by media mail, but the postal worker told me that if it got lost it would not be forwarded or returned and if the contents were important to me that he suggested that I send everything by priority...so I did not get the benefit of the free media mail postage as I valued by videos enough to not want to take a chance. I should have sent one box with everything in it rather than the two. I did not know this company but took a chance and was pretty pleased. The video quality cannot be blamed on them as the videos I sent were old. They were very responsive to my emails, but not specifically to my questions. If I sent an email, they responded pretty promptly, but often did not respond to my questions, so I think they wanted to respond to let me know that they were willing to communicate but not typically very specifically. But I had a lot of technical questions and they DiD complete the transfer process well and in a very timely manner...so I guess when I asked questions, although I did not get specific questions answered, they knew what they were doing and did complete the order well. There was one video that appeared corrupted and they Kindly asked that we look at them to see if we had any issues . I asked them to go back to that one to see if they could redo it which they had offered to do if there was a problem. I am not sure whether they fixed it or not. I did receive everything I ordered from them and they were very reasonable in price, so I would recommend them. I think they tried hard to please and respond to me even though I would have appreciated more specific responses. I was glad to see that they were not a fraudulent group, so you will get the job you wish done fine by them. I think some of our videos were actually done by the kids which was reflected in less than the best recorded data, but that too becomes a memory. Thank you again for your work..Southern Scan.

I found a Hi8 tape in my storage unit. I had no idea what was on it and didn’t have the original camcorder to play it. I’m so glad I found this service, as every other company charged an arm and a leg, plus they had minimum quantities required. This company made it quick, easy and affordable. I ordered and paid through Amazon. They sent me a box with instructions. This part was a little confusing because it said I would receive an email with instructions but I never got an email. Instead the box arrived, I followed the instructions to label my tape, fill out the form, box it up and send it back. I was not charged anything extra because I didn’t want to receive the tape back or get a thumb drive, but if you want those services, they are very reasonably priced. Within a week or so, I received the link with my video. Turns out my video was nothing important (I was hoping for a lost family home movie) and I’m really glad I did not have to spend a lot to find out that I don’t care about the video. They made the whole process very easy. Even receiving the video and downloading it was easy. One last point about their customer service: I wrote to them because I didn’t realize I was waiting on a box and thought I was supposed to be getting an email. They responded immediately and explained the process. Very helpful!
