Perfect rat carrier
I was given this type of cage when a rat was surrendered to a rescue I volunteer for and I had never seen this type of carrier before. I love that you open it from the top. I like cages like this more for rats as they seem less likely to bite if I grab them from above instead of my hand coming straight at there face. I used this as a temporary home for a rat recovering for a surgery, I used it during cage cleans and also for transporting rats to adoptive families or to vet appointments. I love that there is a lot of air flow for the rats. I rated the sturdiness as a 4 because I wasn't sold on the sturdiness of the bottom. I always carried it by holding by the bottom to be careful. Some people have zip tied the bottom to the bars for added security. Another reason for the 4 is be aware some rats will chew through the plastic part or the zip ties if those are used. Overall I loved this cage so much I bought my own after sending the original one gifted to me to a new home with some fosters.

Great little travel cage.
I use this for transporting Parrotlets. I have bought quite a few of them. They are well made and perfect size for small animals and small parrots.*use zip ties to safely fasten the wire top to the bottom, so there are no accidents. Zip ties fit perfectly through the base where the wire snaps into the base.

Works for it's purpose
This is NOT a regular cage meant to house your animal long term. It is made for transporting, thus it is small. I ordered the medium size just to have someone to house my guinea pig outside of the house while it was being fumigated, and it works fine for that. He is a full size skinny pig (and a little fat) and he didn't have much room to comfortably move and turn around, but it made transporting him and housing him for a few hours much easier. It has decent sized space between the bars, so I was able to fit his water bottle, and I placed his hay on one side of the cage so it did have enough room for him to have a side to himself and a side to eat. Dropped one star because it didn't come with the carry handle, and I didn't have time to order a replacement because it was a last minute decision and order. Overall, as long as you read the description that this is for travel and not housing, it does exactly what it says to do. However, due to being small, I would not order the medium for something like a rabbit, because a rabbit simply just would not fit, either through the small hole in the top or inside the cage itself. Guinea pig is the biggest I'd go, and I would only recommend it for short term.

It’s ok but it came used?
It took me about an hour before even realizing how to assemble the thing. I noticed about after I tried assembling it that it was clearly used. There was flakes of bedding and dirt covering the bottom tray. I washed it off but what I’m confused about is that I didn’t even order the used cage which was advertised for 12$, And instead I got the new one. Anyway the product works pretty well and I can pick the cage up without the top part falling off, it’s not THAT sturdy, if you don’t assemble it correctly it leans back and forth and will let your animals get out. I don’t expect this to last that long since it’s plastic. I’m getting rats so I’m assuming that they’ll just chew the bottom tray up but it’s good for ‘in the meantime’.

Nice little traveling carrier - would only use for short trips
I have 2 pet parakeets and I used this to bring them home both times. It’s small, easy to assemble and sturdy enough. However, the bottom of the carrier is quite slippery so depending on the animal you’re putting in it, I would recommend putting a small cloth or paper towel on the bottom. Neither of my birds stood on the perch, they stood on the floor of the carrier because isn’t that tall. I wouldn’t recommend trying to fit a bird bigger than a budgie in here, and I (personally) would never put more than one budgie in at once. Also, because it is very small, I would only recommend using this for very short trips, for example, to go the vet. Since it is so easy to put together, I just keep it dismantled and flat under the cage, so in case of an emergency I can set it up and go. This carrier is great, but its functionality really just depends on what type of animal and what size of animal you’re trying to put inside. I know this little carrier comes in other sizes too, so apply this information however it helps you. Hope this helps! 💕

Perfect travel crate
This product is mislabeled, its actually the medium sized travel cage, which is exactly what I was looking for.I am travelling to South Africa with my Senegal Parrot and I look forward to using this cage. The wire is really hard to put on to the base but I think it is a good thing and adds sturdiness to the cage. The built in perch was also hard to put in, but I don't mind because at least it came with one. I bought this cage because it is the only one that fits the Ethiopian Airline in-cabin pet crate size requirements. I also bought the Kaytee Come Along soft crate to go over it and fits perfectly!I will post an updated review once my Senegal is actually in it.Update: my parrot didnt mind at all! It was actually the perfect size. He could stand up in it and we were able to add so much food and water. We did have trouble in the Toronto Aiport, despite being sealed by a government veterinarian. One thing I found was that the perch was quite useless, so instead I bought a small wooden ladder (found in pet stores for birds) and cut it so it could fit. It gave him more grip and sturdiness.

I like the size
I like the size, perfect for transporting a single adult rat, or a couple of babies. The only thing I'm not pleased with is the attachment to the base. DO NOT pick it up by the handle or the top, always hold it by the base or it will fall off and your pets could potentially get injured. I put this carrier inside a fabric one which works perfect for trips to the vet. Bar spacing is perfect for young rats as they can't escape.

Very well made
It's not exactly the most comfy cage for travel but it's sturdy and easy to use and does the job I do recommend this to anyone who wants to travel with their little pet
