To me, these are a step-up from the "leading brand" shorts I've been buying for comfort, although they do not have a zippered pocket and are just a little heavier fabric so won't dry instantly. They dry almost-instantly, so good enough for rain, sitting on a wet bench, and hiking as long as you can take an extra few minutes to dry so you won't have all the problems resulting from walking wet (I am expecting the "leading brand" to excel here but don't know yet).The front pockets (hands and cargo) are a little larger - enough for easy micro EDC access in a sticky (like a P365) although it can shift to lie sideways. I feel like the fabric is more reliable, too, but time will tell since these are not a mesh and there's a seam on the bottom with a drain-hole and a silky fabric against your skin.There's no stretch to the fabric but the waist band seems more giving... again, it may fail leaving these much looser than the "leading brand" which seems to have about half of the stretch (I can't tell since mine have broken down long ago).The cargo pocket velcro is a bit too substantial - you'll need two hands at first to separate the flap. I'd prefer at least one zipper like the "leading brand" usually has.So, overall I prefer these so far to the "leading brand" because of comfort, the more substantial material, and pocket size. I can live with the few other differences. Whether they last as long will be questionable, but I can actually see through my years-old daily-wear "leading brand" shorts so not sure if that really matters.

Looking for shorts for my husband to wear while surf fishing. These shorts are perfect. They have that cargo shorts look but yet are so light weight for quick drying. They fit perfectly also! Very happy with this purchase!

In 66 years, these must be the most comfortable shorts I have ever worn. I use them daily while remodeling my house, and the extra pockets are deep and very handy. I am currently ordering two more pairs.

These shorts seem to be well made, but I’m not thrilled with the design. The Velcro pockets are very difficult to open with one hand. I would prefer buttons or snaps. The size recommendation was correct by the way. These do run a size small.

Light, soft, cotton-like nylon fabric that feels good, dries very quickly, and sheds dirt. I liked the top quality heavy duty fly zipper (maybe an odd thing to notice, but it always amazed me how many "designer" brand shorts at twice this cost have cheap low quality zippers). Properly cut for excellent fit. If I had any suggestion at all for improvement it would be ditch the Velcro patches from the pocket flaps, a long time personal beef of mine. But in their defense, these are advertised as beach/fishing shorts. Oh, and making one of the front overlay pockets the size of a cell phone would have been nice, a la Wrangler's "Tech Pocket" shorts.

The shorts are very good fit they have an elastic band that if you gain a little weight still fit and also if you lose little weight they'll fit nicely they are pretty durable. I have two of them that I saved for dressing up at the beach or going out at night I live in Florida I like them very much I have six pairs

Second time I ordered them. Fit is great and they look nice too. I'm a fat old man, 220, 5'9" and they don't look like a tent on me. Also, there are plenty of pockets to keep everything.I highly recommend them.

I ripped by old pair of these and I was happy to find that they are still being sold. Very comfortable, lightweight but yet sturdy. In the Florida heat these and a go to pair of shorts. The only thing that I hate about these shorts is there are two slits in the main pockets to let the sand and water out and when I whaere them they are not needed.
