Sorry PJMc I cannot answer your question directly as regards the shade of blue. I originally purchased this style in the orange tone but had to return as style not correct. Sent for another shape - again in the orange tone and have to say it was spot on the colour advertised. So I would say colours are true as advertised. What I will say is that SwankySwans were very good to deal with and my return and re-order was dealt with efficiently.

Q: what are the dimensions of the bad not including the top handle?

width at the bottom-91/2" =24cms. At he top 8"=201/2 cms Height 6"=15cms Depth at the bottom 3"=7cms, at the top 2"=5cms

Q: Have these got a shoulder strap?

There is a standard sized chain strap included with the bags.

Q: Could one have a golden chain?

The bags comes with a silver chain which is detatchable, so if you have a gold chain from a different bag you can attach and use.
