Eileen French Press Coffee and Tea Maker, 34 Oz., Chrome

This press uses the same, reputable all-stainless plunger and mesh filter mechanism as Bodum's Chambord line. The mesh filter included with my order showed no signs of damage and produces a tight seal within the glass beaker. The mesh is fine enough to keep nearly all grinds out of the final cup, and sediment has been minimal within the final cup when using an appropriately coarse grind. This press is absolutely gorgeous in person. I have not noticed any sharp edges, and the chrome finish is consistent and without issue. And water spots, should they appear after air drying, are easy to wipe away. I have found this press to be more durable than the Chambord line. The extra material serves to hold the beaker more snugly, thus better preventing the beaker from slipping out of the holder when pouring, and also helps to prevent bumps, even light ones, from damaging the glass within. As for plastics, the spout is part of the glass beaker, so no plastics there, but the lid's base is made of plastic(s). I am not sure what plastics were used in its construction, but while the water does pass through openings in the lid while pouring, minimal contact is made and I have not noticed the taste affected. Still, for those with a particular adversity, the glass beaker's spout allows for pouring without the top fully engaged if one is careful. Cleaning is akin to other presses, and full disassembly of all major pieces, including the filter, is possible and recommended for cleaning. I have not used the dishwasher to clean this press, and I would never recommend it as this would risk damage to the glass and almost certainly harm the chrome finish after repeated washes. One additional note, be careful not to scratch the glass during the first several cleanings as the beaker is a very, very tight fit for the holder at first. I would recommend a gentle twisting motion be used for the first several beaker removals and insertions. After the first several cleanings, the beaker is a snug, but not overly tight, fit for the beaker and cleaning becomes easier. Would recommend.

Using this french press yields an outstanding cup of coffee! Efficient to use, quick and easy clean up, very little extra time or effort from making your morning brew with a drip type maker. This unit is well made, durable and fashionable. Consider purchasing this if you grind your own beans and like strong coffee that is of consistant and high quality. Unless you have or are going to purchase a quality coffee mill, don't buy this or any other french press...you'll likely be disappointed at the results. I recommend the Starbucks Barista Burr Grinder (made by Solis) (...). The price on this 8-cup model doesn't deviate by more that a couple of bucks amoung retailers, so I bought at Amazon and if I ever need parts, I can buy direct at Bodum's web site. As Bodum doesn't "outdate" their products every couple years like other mfg's, you should have piece of mind knowing that you'll not have to part with your french press if something tragic happens to it. Enjoy excellent coffee.

The design is very aesthetic, and fits perfectly in the kitchen for breakfast. The outer metal sleeve is quite snug at the beginning, but taking it slow gets it off quite easily. Subsequent sleeve removals are much easier! The high heat does not cause wetness on the bottom, a problem which Ive felt with other French Presses. Flavour is amazing, and including the coffee powder spoon is a very nice touch! 10/10 recommend

For style and function, the Bodum Eileen FP is a great buy... the design is lovely, the construction is sturdy, and it makes some great coffee! The purchase was a bit of a splurge for my co-workers and I but it has already paid for itself in satisfying beverages. I would recommend Bodum for your FP needs (this is my second one... the other is used for camping) and the Eileen model if you have a love of history, design, and/or the architect/artist, Eileen Grey.

I've had a couple different Bodum French presses before. I like the flat plunger which does not dig into your hand like the ball-shaped ones do. Also, the part that the screens screw into is metal, which I am hoping is stronger. (The last one was plastic and that broke.) The only drawback is it has threads on both sides, so sometimes it unscrews from the wrong side. You can hold it but it is pretty small, so gripping it is not so easy. The metal surrounding the glass can be annoying. I can like with it but given a choice, I would not buy it again. When brewing half a pot, it is difficult to know where the halfway mark is. That was several critiques, but overall it is a great French press that makes delicious coffee.

Just fine across the board. The price is suitable to its design. The function caters to its quality. The visual is reminiscent of that all so lovable ornamental modality Art Nouveau with a reserve of Mission styling. Frank Lloyd would be gratified by this coffee maker!

We love using a French Press every morning. I broke ours. ( DON"T leave it filling under the faucet unattended. It tends to tip over when it is full and break. Stupidly, I've done this 2X!) I decided to spend a little more and get this Eileen instead of just a replacement for the glass. I am so glad I did. This is really beautiful. Love the extra zip and style it lends to our kitchen. The Eileen is also sturdier than the other version. The plastic part where is pours is not as cheap, and I predict will last longer. **I'll give you a tip: I saw this at BB&Beyond for $20 less. And if you can get a 20% off coupon and save even more. I was a little bummed about that, but oh well!

大きいかなって迷ったんですけどそうでもないですね。見た目も容量も良く、500では少ないと感じたかもしれません。 大きさに余裕を感じて優雅な自己満足です。 朝600cc作って、サーモス350の水筒に注いで残りは朝の一杯。がぶ飲み派なので丁度良いです。 息子と紅茶を飲む時は満杯に作って二人分の水筒と一杯ずつで丁度ですね。 何度も作るのが手間と思う面倒臭がり。それでいてコーヒーしか口にしない私にはもってこいでした。 安く買えたし凄く満足してます。

Luce bastante elegante, el acabado es muy bueno y los materiales son de mucho mejor calidad qué el resto de prensas qué he tenido. Definitivamente una buena inversión.

Wonderful product, very attractive (as well as more protected), makes excellent coffee, easy to clean and a good price on sale. I am delighted with it. Takes longer that my Keurig but the coffee is so much better. Delivery was faster that expected and cost of delivery is better than most other online outlets! The packaging was super protective even though it looked as if it had been through a small war. Also ordered a replacement vessel...again it came faster than had been expected.
