Financial Accounting -- MyLab Accounting with Pearson eText Access Code

I do not see any text reviews for this product and feel inclined to offer some advice.tl;dr: I bought this physical access code booklet under the impression that I wouldn't be able to access my course otherwise. My course asked for the value pack (loose leaf, hole punched pages w/ access code), which I would have bought -- until my school transitioned to online learning. Given that I wouldn't need the physical book, this eText + MyLab bundle was the clear choice for me, personally. Once I became aware of the option to purchase 'instant access' during registration for the course (on the Pearson website), I realized the risk I took by purchasing this physical booklet. Given that there is not a significant price disparity between this booklet and 'instant access,' with the additional guarantee that you are purchasing the correct material for your course directly from Pearson, buying a physical code is something I will not be doing in the future. I wish someone would have told me this sooner, which is why I write this review: in hopes that readers/students are aware of the options that are available if your instructor is using the Pearson platform.--This listing is for a physical access code booklet ONLY. This is the ~$100 code which provides the Pearson 'Financial Accounting, 12th Edition' eText and MyLab Accounting for ONE semester. I am writing this review a few days before my classes start -- the last week of August. The end date for access to this Pearson material is December 31st, about two weeks after the end my classes (see attached pictures).The price is the same for 'instant access' on the Pearson website once you begin registration with your Course ID, provided by your instructor/professor; without it, you cannot proceed. Apparently there are custom accounting courses on MyLab that this code will not work for. That was not the case for me, but it may be the case for you. With the above details in mind, I recommend taking the route of purchasing during registration (on the Pearson website), and foregoing the purchase of this physical booklet; by doing this, you are guaranteed to pay for the exact product your instructor is requesting at similar prices you would find on other online marketplaces.If you chose to go forward with buying this access code booklet, buy directly from Amazon: select the listing that says 'Sold and shipped by Amazon.' Third-party sellers will lower their selling price by a few dollars in order to appear first, meaning that THEIR item will be what you 'add to cart.' This is an access code, that, once used, no longer works. Purchasing codes like these from a third-party carries inherent risk as it pertains to product validity/legitimacy. The last thing you want is to go through the grueling process of a return and subsequent refund, which could take several days.Tip: there are a few ways on the page to change the seller, the most apparent is the 'other sellers' link (highlighted in blue) which takes you to a separate page where multiple prices are shown next who is selling. The row that shows the Amazon.com logo is what you should 'add to cart.' This way, you are guaranteed to receive a legitimate product i.e. factory sealed and unused (as I did). In the event that there is a problem (highly unlikely), rest assured that Amazon customer support will rectify the issue if it is 'sold and shipped' by them. 'Fulfillment by Amazon' may be enough for other products, but I personally would not take the risk when buying expensive codes like these, ensuring I purchase the product that is 'sold and shipped' by them.So, if you are absolutely certain you need this booklet, I hope the information above will be of use to you.
