Comfortable, water resistant, kneepad pockets. Great construction pants.
As a carpenter, I love having pants with built in knee pad pockets. I've tried various brands and styles, and these definitely fit the bill. The Caterpillar knee pads fit in the knee pad pockets easily, and I love that there is a divider in the knee pad pocket allowing me to put two knee pads into each side, which is helpful if I ever know I'm going to be on my knees a lot, like if I'm doing tile work. These pants are very water resistant. I wouldn't say they're exactly water proof, but for the most part they do a good job keeping my legs dry when I'm doing anything related to liquid (power washing, working in the rain, cleaning tile/grouting, etc.)My first pair lasted me over a year before one of the legs got caught on a nail and ripped open. I immediately ordered another pair. The knee pad pockets do seem to stretch out a bit over time, so after about 9 months of using them I found I had to use more knee pad inserts or else keep shifting the knee pads around in order to keep them where I wanted. The detachable pouches are a nice feature, but I rarely use them as I usually have a fairly large tool belt on. It's nice to have the option to just use the small pockets for those times that I know I won't be needing ALL of my tools. The waistband is just flexible enough to be comfortable without making the pants feel too loose. These pants don't hold a candle to the Blacklader X1600, but at about half the price you really can't go wrong.I work hard, and I work a lot, so getting about a year out of my first pair of these was completely acceptable. I'm still using my new pair, and so far they've held up to all sorts of tough jobs.Definitely recommended for anyone in the building trades.

Not as durable
Was very impressed with these pants for the first 2 months. Now I'm alittle disappointed in my carpenter pocket durability. I leave my knife in there every day and now it has ripped a hole in that pocket rendering it useless. I hope they can design a tougher material for the bottom on all these pockets. They are supposed to me work pants so you would expect them to hold up for more that 3 months

Very comfortable!! No need to go up a size!!
I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and recently canceled my uniforms with Cintas. They totally suck in my area (maryland) by the way. I bought mostly red kap high visibility shirts and pants from Amazon to replace them. After I had already placed my order I saw these cat work pants and decided to give them a try. I wore them for the first time today and they were great! They're so comfortable and super functional. I had tools hanging out of the tool bag pockets all day and it was really nice to have a dedicated cell phone pocket in a great location. Also got the cat knee pad inserts and they fit inside the pants perfectly. Usually when I am kneeling on dozer tracks it really hurts but I couldn't feel a thing with these pads on! Giving these a strong 5 star for fit and functionality for now. I'll update in a few months on the durability of the material. By the way don't upsize like you would normal work pants. A size 38 is really a size 38. I had some 38's from the uniform company that fit like 34's so I'm always paranoid when ordering work pants

Great for physical and dirty work.
I work outside 70% of the time at my current job. I bought these for those days when its a mist to light spotty rain. They do deflect a good amount of LIGHT exposure to rain. When it pours I doubt they would keep you really dry and I have not put them to that test. I would be in wet pants the rest of the work day if they failed. During heavy rains, I don't work or I put on a rain suit.PROS-- Tough material that should stand up to abuse well. Also somewhat water resistant. --- Fit exactly as sized. I'm a 36w 32L in virtually every pant known, I ordered that size and it fit perfectly. ----Knee's are reinforced and have knee pad pockets. If you kneel at work, get the pads! I stuffed some off brand pads in to try out and they worked ok. ----- Cool pocket pouches that turn into instant light duty tool rigs. ------reinforced cuffs that should extend pant's lifeCONS ---So far only one and that is the material holds a static charge. I worked in a dirty persons house who had multiple shedding animals and had given up on vacuuming. I was covered in pet hair when I completed my job. I had to use 5 sheets on a lint roller to de-hair the pants. Something about the material makes hair, sawdust, regular dust and just about any air borne particle stick to them. I have only worn and washed them once, so maybe that will change, but I think it has something to do with the waterproofing of the fabric.I bought one pair to try out, I'll be buying more.

Gorgeous: durable, comfy, practical: Just perfect!
My son adores these pants! They fit great, and have the internal adjustable waist bands to help out while moving around or bending. The top hanging out pockets can be removed easily (snap buttons). Very durable, comfy, has reflecting strips on the back of legs, knee pad pockets (we bought two pairs of knee pads for Caterpillar and another one) - both are great and can be washed in the machine and put in the dryer. No need to removed all the time!Truly a beautiful design and make. Can even be worn on social occasions. Such a gorgeous, manly pants! We will be buying another in the near future for sure!

Right fit and length just very very baggy legs.
Pants are extremely baggy. I am not a big or small guy by any means but at 5'11 and 160 these pants are probably twice as wide of a leg as I would like. The waist fit well as per size I ordered.

Great pants
Great pants fit and wear great i like these as much as my duluth pants just a shame they double the price on these since i ordered. Ordered 1 pair to see if i would like them and check the fit and when went back to order a couple more pairs the price was up to $70 bucks when i bought first pair they were like $34 bucks i guess they found out people liked them so they jacked the price up..very good work pants tho and they are water proof i poured a bottle of water on them and it beads up and runs right off and pants stay dry..so far the color has stayed true with no fading my duluth pants faded pretty quick ..so with both pants at the $70 price point i prob would order the cat pants again just because they dont fade wish they made this style in different color to would be nice

A cheap alternative to expensive Carhartts
A cheap alternative to expensive Carhartts. I purchased these specifically because with every Carhartt I've ever bought, they've always seemed to tear at the crotch long before the pants have actually worn out.I agree that Carhartts are long lasting workpants that can be used and abused, but these have exceeded my expectations. They are rather thin, but still durable and rip resistant, and all the extra pockets are useful when needed. Much like having 4x4 on a vehicle, you dont use them often, but when you need it, you'll be glad its there. The biggest thing I've noticed is their water-resistance. These will not replace your typical Rain Gear, but wow, you can completely soak these things in water and they will dry off very fast, they do not retain water whatsoever.Yes water penetrates themYes you will get wet underneath them. But if your occasionally coming in and out of the rain, or the day is just one of those days where it rains and stops and rains and stops, then these are perfect and you'll be glad you had them.Today, I was doing an epoxy-grout pour, and got completely covered in grout because I didnt want to wear tyvek pants in the hot weather, so I said screw it and just wore what I was wearing. After the pour, it was the end of the day so I figured I could just hose myself down and go home and change and only have to be wet for like a half hour. I grabbed the garden hose and just doused myself and got all the grout off my pants. I was soaked, I felt wet, and I felt gross... however, in the next 15 minutes before we actually left site, I was completely dry... Amazing.

Great work Pants
These Caterpillar H20 Work Pants fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable. They are water resistant, the material is tough and rugged, knee pad pockets are set at the right height and the rubber gripper sewn into the inside of the pant's waistband keeps your shirt tucked in and stops the pants from sliding down when carrying heavy tools in the tool pockets. Overall, the best work pants I have ever worn and they feel good on too. But, just so you now, these pants are not flameproof or fire resistant, I was doing a little welding and then grinding the welds and the hot sparks from the grinding wheel burned a small 1/2" hole in the bottom of the pant leg cuff - but no one stated or advertise that these work pants are flame resistant, so all is good. I patched the burn hole with an iron-on fabric patch and now you can't even tell there was once a burn hole in the bottom of the pant leg cuff.I bought a second pair of these work pants because they are excellent work pants. The optional knee pads are not very expensive but are light-weight, fit perfectly in the 2-level knee pad pockets and they protect your knee properly so the optional Caterpillar Knee Pads are worth ever penny. VERY COMFORTABLE WORK PANTS OVERALL.
