These are very nice jack stands. They're sturdy and the locking pin makes me feel just a bit safer under the vehicle.

I have old Craftsman jack stands lying around. I wanted to upgrade them, so I did. The Torin jack stands are perfect for my auto repair needs. Easy height adjustment and I really like the extra security of the locking bar to prevent any mishaps. Quality jack stands.

I would not hesitate to recommend these jack stands, as I have had very good results and they seem to be very well made. The double lock is an absolutely mandatory feature in my estimation. You should always use the jack stands with the double lock in place, as it adds additional security. I am pleased with the height of the stands as well, as it is possible to raise the vehicle up a considerable amount, making it easy to get in and work. I replaced the front suspension on my vehicle in an afternoon using these stands and they never wavered. I went out and replaced the rear shocks, springs, and fuel filter the next day. Once again, the stands were steady and solid while I pushed, shoved, wedged, etc. the rear springs into place. I am very pleased with these stands and definitely recommend them.

I really liked the double locking feature of these jack stands. I would have much rather bough a set that was made in the USA but finding a set that is actually produced here seems to be a fools errand unless you have a ton of money to spend. For the money they seem to be a great quality. Unfortunately I failed to notice that the floor jack I have did not lift the car high enough to get these under the pinch welds under my 05 corolla. But with some ingenuity we were able to get them underneath. They supported the car well, never moved and felt very stable through replacing my back struts and my front brake pads. There were a few times that we really had to torque some of the parts down and still the car didn't budge. There were some reviews about the welds that made me pause in buying these pads. I tend to spend a long time shopping for things since I want to make sure that my purchases last a long time and that I get the absolute best price I can. But after reading many more reviews giving these good praise I went ahead and purchased them. I have never welded in my life, but from what I could see these held my car just fine, with no signs that they may fail. Granted, I bought the 3 ton jack stands for my 2,500 pound Corolla. I figure bigger is better when it comes to something that is holding a car above you ( I also had my wheels under parts of the car, as well and the floor jack just barely touching the jack point just in case). My car was up on these jacks for a total of 6 hours and never budged. I would highly recommend.

I bought a pair of the 3 ton ones to use as extra support when I'm working on my jeep (about 3200 lbs). I inspected afte delivery, and found no problems with the pair (no cracks on the frame, no paint chips etc.) so the quality seems high. They are solid as well, though most of the mass seems to be in the black part. While I like the idea of the double-lock design, I never rely on this alone for my safety. Always use these in conjuction with something else. For me, it's my scissor jack, coupled with a wheel under the car. Better safe than sorry. I do feel like the design could've been better to allow the silver pin to contact a greater area of the black part, for a more secure form of protection. But, I won't take away a star, because this is the secondary protection mechanism, and because you should never be under a vehicle relying soley on jack stands for support. Like I said, I use these while sharing some of the weight of the vehicle on the scissor jack, while a wheel is placed under the vehicle just in case. These stands have never felt wobbly under the jeep for me, and I have no reason to doubt their ability to support the weight I expose them to. And, of course, just in case they begin failing, I do a pre-inspection and post-inspection, so I'll notice. I got these for just over $30, and at that price point, I am happy with what I got. If I wanted something to make me feel 'safer', I'd easily spend ten times that. Or maybe I'd buy a floor jack, or a ramp, or even a lift.

I have been using these jack stands quite a bit on both of my vehicles. They work very well on my Honda Odyssey which is a bit on the heavy side. But they work and operate as they should. I recommend these jack stands for the money that you pay.

Having started to do my own car maintenance because I was getting tired of being gouged by dealerships and local shops around the area, I decided to invest in some jack stands. I decided on Torin before I decided on these jack stands. Torin is a good quality name that has a good reputation (at least in my circle of friends), so choosing them was a no brainer. The difficult part was to buy the right ones. HOWEVER after additional thought, I decided on the 3 tons of the same style ( Torin T43002A 3 Ton Double Locking Jack Stands (Sold in Pairs) ) because my fiance drives an SUV and her car is over 2-tons. I didn't want to die by getting crushed with weaker rated stands. What's somewhat humorous to me is that as of 4/18/2012, the 2-ton DOUBLE-LOCKING stands are $25.25 on Amazon, yet the 3-ton DOUBLE-LOCKING stands are only $24.99. So for 26 cents LESS, you get stands rated at an additional ton each. What's even more weird is that the Torin 3-ton stands NON-DOUBLE LOCKING Torin T43002 3 Ton Jack Stands (Sold in Pairs) are $29.99!!! It was a no brainer which is the best buy! As for the quality, the welds seem very good and the construction is top notch. I chose this model because it's double-locking. Accidents can happen and since my life would be in jeopardy if something failed; I am taking the most extreme precaution when working under my car. The fact that these stands lock not only once (via pin), but TWICE with another locking lever keeps me safe. The only con is that there is no instruction booklet... but if you're working on your own car (or deciding to), I would assume you were mechanically inclined and therefore would know how to use these stands. They are really easy to use so I can't really consider the lack of a booklet to be worth docking a star.

Bought a set of these 20 years ago and they are still making them the same good quality.

Well made. Looks and feels very strong and safe to use. Has triangle plates welded to each corner of legs for added strength. I also wanted a safety pin in the stand as an extra safety precaution. Price was very good and about the same as other brands without safety pin.
