Super entertaining
He’s a very good writer, great stories. It seems like maybe he was pushing the limit on storytellers prerogative at times, but who knows. One of the best books I’ve read in a while.

After being introduced to some of W.C. Jameson's interesting life (listening to Snap Judgement on NPR - thx WNYC), I just HAD to find out more of Jameson's story.I bought this book and it did not disappoint. If you like adventure, this is a great read!
I can't compliment the author's writing style enough! You feel like you are part of the adventures, adventures in the quest of lost treasures in remote, hidden and forgotten locations. When the treasures are found and recovered, it is fascinating. When the treasures are lost and not recovered it's still an amazing and exciting journey. The only negative thing I could say is at some point you've read the whole book when you would have liked to have kept reading more and more.

Couldn't put it down
I found this book fascinating, although I will probably have nightmares about 13 foot long rattlers for the rest of my life. What stories! What a story teller! No way would I ever want to do what Jameson and his friends have done, but I admire them for taking on these adventures. Plus, I now know that the tales of lost treasures are not tall tales but true ones. I will be listening closer!

There's silver in them thar hills
I heard Mr. Jameson on NPR telling one of the stories from this book and was immediately enthralled. The adventures he recounts are harrowing and the history I learned is fascinating. But he isn't a great writer, and I'd much rather listen to him than read about him, and the book is as much about his personality as about anything else, whether he intended this or not. In all honesty he's pretty full of himself, perhaps with good reason - but then he seems to pick on the rest of us supposed voyeuristic couch potatoes. Which I am not, incidentally, but I prefer to avoid the hangouts of rattlesnakes and poisonous insects whenever possible. Mr. Jameson actually made me angry when he described throwing a trail sign away because he felt it was defacing the wilderness! I mean, geez. Somebody might have very thirsty dogs along for the hike and need directions to the nearest pond... Having said all that (and if he happens to see this - sorry!) I give the book 3 stars because it really is fun to imagine all this stuff, and to know that there's still treasure to be had if one possesses the skills and nerve to go for it.

Fantastic Adventures, excellent writing, couldn’t put it down.
This was an incredible story of how a real life treasure hunter began, pursued and semi retired his incredible career. I wish I could have been the fifth member of his team as they ventured into the true quest for life. His message... get off the couch and get out there to experience real living! Highly recommend this book!

Interesting reading.
This book, with it's sixteen chapters and parting words, appears to be an interesting escape from winter's reality!

Hints similar
Somewhat similar treasure hunts- in his lifetime he could have selected more diverse quests. The book races along, especially toward the end- I couldn't help but feel I had been there before. Well written & a quick read.
