Don't waste your money
Absolute crap made. Beaker won't come out of the frame without scratching the glass. The mesh filter is frayed and warped and very stiff. Cheap made in China crap, I do not believe this is really Bodum. I have an older one (red) exactly the same that I love, bought this as replacement filter was $10 and new press was $15. Pictures show my second try.Amazon needs to clean shop. Lately many things have been cheap China made, not the real thing as advertised. I'll go back to buying direct from vendors, pay shipping and get quality products.

Bodum's quality takes a dive
I've owned several Bodum French presses through the years and I am shocked by how low the quality is in this one. the beaker has two small a diameter for the metal frame, the result, it moves while you pour, leading to an inevitable breakage of the beaker which actually costs more on its own than the whole thing. The top part is made of flimsy colored plastic, where on older models it was chromed steel with a plastic liner. Very shabby. Bad job, Bodum!

FLOATING PARTICLES
Should have listened to the bad reviews. Like some guy said, “cheap made in China crap”. I definitely wouldn’t have bought it if I were aware it caused liquids to be unsafe for consumption, though. Unsure if it’s the jagged edges of the metal scraping the glass beaker or something else that causes the floating particles but this is what it did to filtered tap water. Repeated several times over and kept seeing particles. Huge bummer for me cause it perfectly matched my light blue retro fridge too, but needless to say not worth the health risk!

It deserves a chance
I was hesitant to order this, based on the negative reviews, but I decided to give it a try anyway. Upon initial receipt of this french press, I understood the reviews and regretted my decision. The filter piece was uneven and it didn't reach the bottom of the container piece. I almost returned it. However, I was able to straighten the filter piece and then I realized that it doesn't need to reach the bottom of the container if you put enough coffee grounds in it. The filter piece goes down smoothly, and I had no loose coffee ground pieces when it finished brewing and I poured it into a mug. The material does seem a bit cheap, but it is an entry-level Bodum. For the price, it gets the job done. It's a nice segway into the higher priced Bodums, which I plan on purchasing after using this one for awhile.

Works great, but concerned with way it was shipped.
Ordered as a gift for my mom. I have french press the same brand and love it. Was concerned that it didn't come in it's original box. The box it came in didn't have much bubble wrap in it. It came in one piece no scratches or anything but was concerned when opened. The glass doesn't budge may need to loosen screw on top handle to remove glass to clean. The shade of blue the French press is was way lighter than I thought it would be. Almost looks off white. Lid and handle are plastic. My other one has a metal lid. Will try to update review when my mom uses it.UPDATE: my Mom has used this and works great. Grounds stay where they are suppose to. I forgot to add pictures of press from when I opened it so I've added those with review. Again this was the way it can in the box no other packaging other then a small piece of bubble wrap. Luckily there was no damage when I arrived.

Great for milk frothing
I bought this not for its intended purpose, but for frothing latte milk. It's great! I don't trust it in the dishwasher so it does take a bit of time to clean but it's very cute and froths milk exceptionally well.

Became useless after the first cleaning
At first I thought this was a great French press. The plunger sent the filters to the bottom of the pot perfectly and brewed a wonderful cup of coffee. However, when the filter began looking grungy and the plate under it with the springs that holds it firmly against the side of the glass had begun to push out in some areas. I took the unit apart to clean the filter and push the coils back in place as best I could with no luck. I could not even get the plunger to fit into the filter holder tightly. As a result, when I pressed the plunger, the filter tilted sideways and coffee grounds escaped into the brew itself. So within a few weeks, it became useless.

Love it!
I was introduced to a single cup French Press at an AirBNB and decided I had to get one. I love it! This press is a little smaller than the one I was introduced to - but I am still happy with it. It’s so convenient and much easier to clean than my bigger press. It’s the perfect amount of coffee for a single cup although it produces more like 10oz than 12oz. Initially, I was freaked out by the press itself because it doesn’t reach the bottom of the beaker. I was ready to return it before I used it but I checked the pictures on Amazon. The photo shows the press not reaching the bottom of the beaker, I still found that a little odd but the coffee is good. Now I wonder what took me so long to discover it.

It's much bigger than I thought!
I bought this coffee maker to replace one that I had in storage - the measure of 8 cups seemed OK at the time... but it was much bigger than what I had in mind! Would it be possible to just indicate the volume in mL - the number of coffee cups is pretty much dependent on how much coffee you put in a cup. Quite pricey for what it is. The lid looks pretty, but I still prefer the original steel one, more sturdy.

Not the quality expected from Bodum
Low quality with a brand name. The product was first sent broken (plastic lid snapped at the pressing point) and amazon replaced. However, the replacement has broken after very few uses, metal and plastic filter areas snapped off and the glass jug has shattered during washing. Avoid this product. Suspect this is the old story of a quality product outsourcing production and quality control goes through the floor.

Perfect
This is the second one I have purchased after smashing my first one. They look great and make a good pot of coffee!

Simple and perfect.
Great little gadget. Looks nice in my kitchen, makes great coffee, simple to use and clean (unlike the big coffee machine that lives in the shed now). It’s also very affordable.

Janky
Product arrived with wonky shaped spring and this allows a lot of coffee grinds to come through. In theory if I wanted to add a step to my routine in the morning I could get coffee filters and make it work, but instead I’ll just scrap the money I spent on this and purchase a better quality one!
