The Colt 90X features the same spec as the Colt 90 but with the addition of our V3 brake system make this the perfect board for recreational riding and getting into more freeride type riding. Our entry level board the Colt 90 also gets the new blunted deck shape as well as some component upgrades. The biggest upgrade is without doubt the wheels. FiveStar hubs and T1 tyres give the Colt a lot more performance and are considerably lighter. The second major upgrade is the move to ATS.12 trucks which are stronger and more durable. This also comes with a bearing upgrade which means the whole range now uses a single spec bearing. Finally the F1 bindings have been updated.

Why don't more people do mountain boarding?
I'm an avid snowboarder, I'd rate myself intermediate to intermediate advanced. To get over the heart break of end of snowboarding season, I've gone and got this mountain board, not knowing much about it. But wow, it's really fun, two thumbs up.Being 30 years old - skateboarding or longboarding don't interest me. But mountain boarding is so much more similar to snowboarding, and plus it's got brakes! After the initial getting used to, by week 2, I noticed that it does have that snowboarding feel I've been looking for. Plus I live in the country, so plenty of places to do runs. Mind you, my hills are like mellow green runs, but you don't need much to have fun (it's scarier than snowboarding). Here are some tips, the brakes is a must, gives you confidence to try new slopes, and saved my ass many times. I think the MBS colt is well built and stands up to beginner/intermediate abuse. The skate trunks are perfectly good enough for going downhills, and the control is there. Everything seems durable and looks stylish too. I wished the binding was better, but actually you get used to it, and it really does not need to be tight, the grip tape is what gives the control and looser bindings seem to prevent twisted ankles. Now I only wish more people mountain boarded!

Mountainboard

Slow, can’t kick push, wheels set too close to feet.
Think I tore an muscle on the inside of my leg trying to get this thing moving, super slow coasting. Every time I tried to push with my back foot it was impossible to get it back on the board without kicking a tire. It has a brake but I don’t know why you’d need it since every time I tried to carve the top of my shoe would rub the wheels and almost send me flying. Been riding boards my whole life, (snow, skate, surf) but returning this one. Spend the extra money and get an Evolve all terrain.

Great Mountainboard for the money!
The Colt 95x by MBS is a great board for moderately experienced but eager riders. The brake system is a lifesaver when trying out different grade terrains and has saved my sons skin more than once! I highly recommend it for the New mountain boarder.

Great for dogboarding!
I tow it behind a pit bull / lab mix and it works great. Needs speed cream out the box, but not much else. Nice flex and solid cut to it when I downhilled a little.

Not for me
Didn't really work well for me, sent it back, the position of the wheels made it so my push foot kept hitting the rear wheel.

The board itself was great. The brakes were the worst feature of the board. They have no smooth feeling and alternate between stopping and releasing. Better to learn to scrub off speed.

not bad
definitely for beginers, not sure if its the barrings, but the way it coasts is kinda slow
