With a little work, it’s great
Like other reviews, the threads did not go all the way through the holes. Chased it with an M4-.7 tap and removed leftover plastic on the cable. Put it in and tightened it down and now have a functioning handle again. One suggestion for the set-screws: tighten it down firmly, back off and retighten. Do this twice and snug it down on the third time. This helps the set screws “bite” into the cable and hold it firmly.

Not bad for the money
The part is made pretty well for the low cost of the part. The set screw holes weren't drilled and tapped properly, so I had to Redhill and tap them before installation.

Pop the hood
I hate that the hood latches that come with the car are so easily breakable. This hood latch is sturdy and extremely easy to install. Mine only took two minutes to install and it looks great there. I've had mechanics ask me where I got it. The color even matches the exterior of my car. Couldn't be happier to have this in my ride.

A couple modifications/fixes and all is good
As others have stated, the set screws are very soft, mine rounded out where the hex key went. Went to the hardware store and bought hardened ones, fixed that.Also, one of the holes was not drilled through all of the way. Drilled out and ran a M4-.7 tap through both holes to clean up. Now installed and functional.

Screws strip very easily
Not hard to install (watch a video on another website that rhymes with "BlueCube"). The hex heads on the small set screws strip out VERY easily.

The media could not be loaded. It fits perfect I just put it wrong but it work

Honda Hood Latch
Very easy to install but you will need to cut away some of the plastic cover on the cable prior to installing it.

Has been broken a long time.
I have been using a small pair of vise grips locked onto the hood release pull for a long time. Easy to install: had to remove old glued on plastic forcefully. Remove inner kick panel. So far so good for durability. ‘97 Civic little things repaired one by one. Definitely would recommend this.

It worked fine but Allen Key Not Correct Size
Well made little replacement.What needs to be improved:Longer set screws and the right sized allen key.What is wrong with you? It’s not like the correct size costs more.Once you get to a certain tightness the allen key just slips.The picture displays longer set screws, you get shorter ones.I deliberately went with one that pictured longer ones in hopes of avoiding that problem. Nope.In the end it worked, we’ll see if they will hold over time.Overall good product for the price but the failings are easily avoidable and obvious, not sure why they are doing it the way they are.
