Great product
I do like to make my own porridge in the mornings but doubtless like many readers there are days when I just want it ready. Hench is not the cheapest instant porridge I've tasted but so far easily the best and the price is competitive. a) the flavours are truly great, Non-standard, they have a designer touch to them and the varieties makes it an added attraction on a cold morning. b) you don't just get porridge but added whey protein. Anyone familiar with nutrition knows that protein at breakfast is essential to get mind and body through the day efficiently so there's an added health kick. "Fill the water to the level on the outside of the tub" seems a non-sequitur in a nanny consumer state but I doubt if anyone would so stupid as to put the water on the outside (but there's no accounting for stupidity). Hench porridge is definitely not dumb. It's nice to see such intelligent effort behind an everyday product.

Convenient, decent macros, okay value, but not exactly a culinary treat
A little over £1.50 for a scoop of porridge and a (partial) scoop of whey, in a cardboard cup. If you bought the oats and whey yourself, the ingredients might come to 75p. So the mark-up isn't actually extortionate. If you get genuine value from having it in a pot that you can easily carry to work and then throw away, then fair play. The actual food is… well, if you make it according to the instructions, it's just porridge made with hot water, and some flavoured whey. The oats don't cook enough just by soaking them in boiling water, and the whey cooks too much - I really dislike the texture of boiled whey. It took an effort of will to finish some of the flavours, and I ended up binning one. You can improve them a little by substituting (some of) the water for milk, and microwaving it; and you can improve it by adding some chopped fruit or nuts, etc; just be aware that doing so will change the macros. A better way to make protein porridge is to cook the oats separately, get them to the texture you like, then dissolve the whey in a small amount of warm (NOT boiling) water and stir it in. But this is a lot harder to do in the coffee area at work in the 5 minutes before your first meeting.

Great Product
I have ordered the variety box, toffee vanilla and raspberry ripple. Outstanding product, I start work early and a pot of Hench keeps me going until lunchtime. I also work out most days so the boost of protein is a bonus. I have recommended to work colleagues. Quick & easy to make, I use milk and microwave for 90 seconds, and warming on these colder mornings. Would absolutely recommend these if a quick tasty breakfast is what you need.

Low sugar and high protein but texture and taste are not great
So far I’ve tried Lemon Drizzle, Fruit and Nut and Jaffa cake. Unfortunately the Jaffa cake has gone straight in the bin as I could not stomach it. Fruit and nut was OK and lemon drizzle left an after taste. Texture is not quite right and very sweet.

On 2nd order
The porridge is really nice you have to add a little bit more water than the line or warm milk is really good too, they taste really nice and they keep me fall till lunch time, I will be doing a regular order.

Far far too sweet!
Every other reviewer must have completely different tastes to me. I had to throw them away, I cannot bear the taste of artificial sweetener. These are far, far too sweet. To the point they made me feel sick. Great idea, I would have loved these if only they had natural sugar or far less sweet. I found them completely edible and sadly wasted the lot!
