Excellent easy-to-use looper, a few technical quirks
This is my first & only looper, never tried a Boss... and probably never will. But it's amazing what you can do on the Ditto with just one button. The sound quality is great, having stereo is awesome. I've been trying to emulate the looping+improv likes of Elise Trouw, quickly working up one song per day as practice. Once I get good enough I'll start putting stuff out on the web. Being a dude and infinitely less easy on the eyes, I doubt I'll catapault to stardom but I just enjoy this looper so much I don't care. I'm not looping just a guitar, but my entire studio. I'm running a rickenbocker 620, ibanez bass, donner uke, two vintage casios (CZ-1 and HT-6000) and Yamaha P255 piano, plus mike and roland e-drums, thorough a Zoom R24 being used (mainly) as a sound board. Downstream from that is the Ditto looper, then my two cheapo 20W amps (Stereo left & right). Working up a song per night with no punch-in ability is a fun challenge. My only complaints: yes, it sucks 9v batteries dry very fast. You need to find a power adapter. After much trial & error with various power adapters I had on hand, I discovered that the Atari Flashback Console wall wart (one of the original versions) works. My only other complaint -- and this might be my mid-life reflexes -- it's a bit tricky to nail the loop cutoff point if you're doing something sensitive like a drum track. It's doable, but even with practice it's a bit hit or miss. Maybe I'll get better. Anyway, I got a slightly-used unit for about $100 and haven't hit any of the bugs or noise issues that some other reviewers mentioned.

Not as easy as they say
The links to the website for StarJam are dead. It doesn’t exist. Most of the hype behind that is 8 yrs old. There is a SoundCloud site but all the music is from one techno artist. There is LITTLE info on how to operate this thing. It relies on the assumption you will intuitively grasp how it works. But the sound quality is the best and that is why I chose Ditto’s 24 bit processor over Boss’ 16 bit.

Fun after figuring it out!
Love it! Took a little while to get used to it and figure it out, but this is my first Looper pedal. I discovered that if I leave it plugged in without a power supply, the battery drains rather quickly. I was able to find a 9 volt AC adapter rather easily, using one that I had lying around. The battery life is no longer an issue. The other issue I encountered initially was that when I downloaded a track that I had saved on the device, the first second or so was taken off the beginning of the track and added to the end. Very strange, but upgrading the firmware on the Looper -- something that is not possible unless one has an AC adapter -- seems to have corrected the problem. Lastly, the instructions that come with the unit consist only of a tiny little cheat sheet. The manufacturer's website has an excellent and comprehensive set of instructions available. I would recommend this Looper to others, although those who don't care about saving tracks they create might find the non stereo version perfectly adequate.

Simplicity
I have never used a looper before and this lives up to its hype as easy-to-use. This is a great tool for the play-at-home guitar player!

Some bugs, but a rest should fix.
Very nice to have. But if problems arise, Google on how to reset it. Then the problem with unwanted noise will cease.

Handy tool for practice and fun.
If you don't know, this is a digital recorder that lets to loop guitar (or any other instrument) chord sequences and then add more layers of sound on top - and in stereo. It's a lot of fun. I've not tried any other loopers, but I find this very easy to use and it sounds great. A very handy tool for trying out chord sequences for song-writing, or for just mucking about soloing over chords. Very solidly built with a quality feel. I like TC Electronic stuff.

Needs getting use to. Second review.
second review, worked for about a week then died. Can't get any reply from TC Electronics. I believe I was shipped a used item. One of the rubber pads on bottom is missing. Contacted TC Electronics both online and Facebook. No reply. I don't usually give negative reviews. I have no other recourse. All problems resolved successfully, got new looper which works perfectly.
