Best visibility
I bought a variety of headnets from Amazon to select the best one for my family's trip to the Amazon jungle. Because it is made of black mesh - this unit had the best visibility of all of them. It was also larger than all others; except for the Outdoor Research unit that has the integral metal band. However, having a large head (and thus a large hat) - it wasn't quite large enough to use with a hat that has a brim all the way around, so I'll be buying a hat that has a big (to keep the mesh off my face) front brim only.

First impressions are misleading
I got this in the mail today. Did NOT look like much, but once I put it on to go out and work in the yard it was outstanding. I used it over a baseball cap and immediately there were 3 or 4 gnats/no-see-ums walking on the outside of it. It was a little disconcerting to see them walking all over the mesh but the key thing as they were not in my eyes or my ears. Worked perfectly as at one time I counted at least 10 of them walking around on the outside trying to figure out how to get to me. As for the size complaints some people have made, it is all about choices. I have a big head 7 5/8ths and it fit fine with a baseball cap. I can see if you have a bigger hat it could be a little short but that is a choice you make. It may not look like much, but hey we are not buying a fashion accessory. It works.

Excellent net- good visibility, nice carry bag, good coverage.
I live in Alaska where our State bird is the mosquito. Ok, it's not really the mosquito, but we have a lot of mosquitoes. In the summer I carry a head net everywhere and had been using a Coghlan green mesh which worked but the green mesh is sort of distracting and hard to see through. I had heard black mesh was better, so I bought a couple of these Sea to Summit head nets. First, the black mesh is WAY easier to see through. Big improvement. Also, the net is much longer than the Coghlan's, and offers much better neck coverage which is excellent. They also come in a small stuff sack, which is a bonus, because mosquito net catches on everything and is so easy to tear a hole in. It's nice to be able to stuff this into it's own carry sack and put the sack in my pocket when not using it.

Not like the photo
The net does not drape as long as the one in the photo. I have a hat very similar to the one shown and once you sinch the opening closed it leaves the neck totally exposed. I bought 3 nets so I will attempt to modify one to fit around the crown of the hat rather than over it, hopefully gaining additional length.

Great mosquito net!
Summary: after comparing to 2-3 other nets, this is the best yet. This was a gift for my mother, and I have also tried it out myself. It's being used in rural NH for gardening. There are a LOT of flies and mosquitoes. Before using this net, my parents tried out a few others.Pros:-The black netting provides much better visibility (versus dark green and brown nets), especially on sunny days-The drawstring (versus elastic) is essential! Drawstrings allow for a looser fit on the shoulders which prevents insects from attacking your neck. The elastic causes bunching on the neck, which unless you have a high turtleneck, leaves parts of your neck exposed.-Extremely light weightCons:-None that I've experienced

A Very Cheap Insurance Item! Little Weight, Large Return!
Wore this to Ptarmigan Tunnel and a few other locales in Glacier NP this summer. Flies were BAD. This saved the day! Lightweight, quick on, quick off. What's not to love? TOTALLY worth the money and the extra ounce or so to have this with you. People were literally offering me money for mine on the trail ha!!I'll never hike without it again! Never know when the bugs will be bad!!

Perfect travel companion for buggy places!
A nice surprise! The netting is large and will fit over my big brimmed hat. The black netting makes visibility good. The little storage pouch is nice to travel with so the netting doesn't get snagged. Plus the drawstring at the bottom makes it easy to adjust when wearing. This net will be easy to put on and off while on a safari. Plus you cannot beat the price!!!

Mosquitoes Begone!
Fit great; just the right size to go over a Tilley hat. and long enough not to invite bugs in from the bottom edge. Good visibility with the black mesh. Luckily, I did not have to wear it for a long period of time. The mosquitoes abated when we got our canoe out on the water. But on the shore, getting ready to put in,...I was really glad I had it!
