Amazing book!

I bought it because it sounded like a 'good read' and found it not only a good read (as in easy to read and it kept me interested) but also in the sense that it actually DID ME GOOD, spiritually. I found it hard to put down, and in fact read it in just a couple of evenings, because at every turn of the page I understood a little more of God's power at work TODAY, for and through just an ordinary person like myself, the only difference being that Angus Buchan made a conscious decision to TRUST God. this book changed my walk with the Lord....in fact I think it changed my life.

This is the best true story one could ever read - extremely uplifting - but the film edition version is nowhere near as good as the original version.

Having lived in Natal for 30 years and now back in England, reading Angus Buchan ' s book has been illuminating. I became a Christian in South Africa and sat under the ministry of Bishop Joe Bell for 25 of those years and had wonderful evangelical teaching. However many life changes had me in a far place, this book has brought me back to the love that I first knew in Christ Jesus. I have dedicated my life anew this morning as I finished the last pages. I will be sharing this with all I come into contact with from this day forward. Thank you Mr Buchan for your witness and faith I have many times travelled the road from Johannesburg to Natal and seen the cross up on the left as we return home. Now I know why it is there and all the more special.

Moving

this is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. It is a must for Christians but will also appeal to anyone . I have purchased the movie to pass around since reading this. It will move you to tears and touch your heart. It is simply written so you won't be overwhelmed with theology. This man has been used greatly by God in Africa. God worked many miracles through him. he has a simple trust in the Lord, nothing complex just faith.You won't be able to put it down and will want to read it again

Excellent read. Inspiring. Compelling and a testimony to challenge one's own level of faith.

Angus is so humble and unassuming but so filled with the love of God and ready to trust him even in the most difficult of times in his life and reveal how faithful and powerful is our God in our daily lives,if we put our faith and trust in him. Hi carries out a wide ministry to men which is so needed in today's society.

An outstanding story for our generation! I have read this many times myself and with my kids and seen the movie. I have recommended it, loaned it out so much that I realized I didn't have my copy anymore and needed to buy it again. I plan to continue passing this story on, sharing it with my grandchildren and others. This is an inspiring story of faith in Jesus, a deeper faith that we need to learn to have in the United States. It's compelling and motivating!

Inspirational, and a good read.

Well this book was recommended to me by a friend, never heard of it, did not know there was even a movie. Then I found it on kindle and downloaded the book and started to read it in every spare moment. Even though I was working I managed to finish it completely in three days. For me it was very inspirational, to have complete faith in the lord, that we will be taken care of takes unimaginable strength. It is helping me in my own journey, I am still not completely there but true stories and accounts of struggles in the name of faith as they are recorded in this book really build you. A great book, highly recommended, very inspirational. If you are on your own journey this will definitely give you some tools to follow.

In many modern day churches, the Gospel has been so diluted that we now ask the congregation to bow our heads and close our eyes so that the new convert can SLIP his hand up to be included in the sinner's prayer for the salvation of his soul, which is totally unbiblical. Angus has brought the Gospel truth back to life by not only asking converts to come forward but to insist that they tell the first three people they meet about their new faith in Jesus Christ. The bible says "whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven' Matthew 10:32.Every preacher should read this book if only just for this revelation, that the Gospel is Good News, not Embarassing News! Much more besides in this book that builds faith. Simple English. Easy read. But faith-building nevertheless.
