Monster and the Beast Vol. 1 Kindle & comiXology

I devoured the first volume and I'm trying to pace myself and not immediately devour the next two. Tomorrow, at least. 5 stars for Cavo, -1 star for Liam.Right away I really love Cavo. What a sweetie. I love his hair, love his curiosity, and would love to give him a big cuddly hug because he could really use one. I've love to be his friend and show him the world and travel with him and hang out in the forest or wherever and just provide unconditional love that doesn't see him as a terrible monster.I'm not sure about Liam yet. Jury's still out since by the end of this volume, it's still a mystery on what exactly is Liam's deal. Why are people after him? What did he do? Why is he a beast? Why is everyone charmed by him? Does he murder people ? Steal their memories? Working with some kind of forbidden magic? Or is he just sexually ravenous? I also of course don't care for the way he treats Cavo at times but I can't tell if it's because he's genuinely a cold-hearted self-serving twat or he's aromantic or what.I'm a little anxious to read volume 2 with that in mind. I've only known Cavo for one volume but if anything happens to him, I'm tearing Liam apart and cursing the author/artist.

I'm super happy about this manga!! 1st things 1st, this isn't your typical yaoi or BL that centers on the boys and has absolutely no plot- oh no, This has an amazing balance of focusing on introducing the main couple while giving them interesting personalities and a dynamic relationship that I really enjoy as well as introducing a plot that I'm really intrested in.. if your interested in some explicit content you wont find it here although it does get steamy once or twice! As for the quality the book, it's about the same quality as you would get from a manga from the bookstore, the pages are nice and thick, it has very minimal bending from me reading through it once. The colored pages and the higher quality glossy illustration given to us on the 1st page is amazing and most of all it's over a 150 pages long which is important to me because I would rather buy a comic that has more than a handful of chapters so I dont waste alot of money for so little xDDefinitely would look cute on a mamga shelf and a must buy! I hope this series lasts a long while!! This is definitely a set up edition of the series which makes sense because it's the 1st edition and I'm super happy that I bought the 2nd comic to go with it in the same order because I absolutely devoured both of these books in one sitting- i wouldnt have lasted only getting the first one!!

Prefacing this by stating that this is the manga writers first manga, I'm stating this as a constructive critique. The art in this book is fantastic, I have no complaints about the art at all the mangaka is a fantastic artist, their bodies look good and well dressed, they handle anatomy and clothing very well.The problem starts at the plot which is a simple enough concept. The problem is that it feels like I'm missing chapters between the pages, the pacing is something the artist should work on in future works because within a few pages we go from a demon coming out of the trees to a love story and it gave me a case of whiplash.Also the main characters....abilities aren't made clear as to what they are because I can't tell if he has some kind of magic or whats going on. It doesn't really explain or mention how he's doing the stuff he does and it's obvious he's using magic or something. (I want to add that magic that allows you to brainwash people to sleep with you is kinda not ok at all and it's really r***y)As excited as I was for a monsterXhuman romance, this just isn't it at all and I'm highly unlikely to pick up the next.

~3 StarsWe meet Liam as he's being attacked by some men in the woods, and Cavo comes and saves him. But we quickly discover that Liam had agreed on a trip with those men and now doesn't know which way is out, and that he's familiar with using his body to get what he wants and to get affection.I was intrigued at the first idea of a Beauty and the Beast take with a gay relationship. I'm a little disappointed with how this pans out, though.Liam is definitely the monster of the relationship, despite being a handsome gentlemen. Cavo is a “terrifying creature”, and yet he's gentle and sweet, and simply wants to stay by Liam's side. How Liam treats Cavo with so much uncare, and even disdain at times, really puts me off. He seems to humor Cavo at times to let him come along with him, but he doesn't act with any real kindness or affection toward him.The ending makes me think there'll be a little twist thrown in next, but I don't know if I'm all that interested. I liked Cavo enough, but I really didn't like Liam, and I didn't really get the chemistry between them, either.

Take it from someone who isn’t a fujoshi...this manga is actually really cute and wholesome. Rather than sticking with weird or gross stereotypes and tropes, this is an actual story about two screwed up people trying to make it together. Cavo is outwardly a monster, but inwardly kind and naive. Liam is charming and good looking, but is very much a beast of a man who seeks out all forms of pleasure. These two somehow meet in the middle and support one another.If you’re looking for something kinky, this isn’t quite that sort of manga. But, if you’re a Beauty & the Beast fan and love wholesome romance, give this manga a try. Personally, it’s my sort of weak spot story.

I’m absolutely IN LOVE with this BL!! So ofc when I found out they were selling copies on here I HAD to get them!💓 I’m honestly so glad that I did and I’m even happier that I was able to receive my package with no damages to the covers! Also wanted to mention that The third volume did have on a shrink wrap since it has explicit content buuut I ended up taking off the plastic lol. ANYWAYS, i highly recommend this purchase even if you haven’t read it before, I SWEAR it’s worth the read!! And if you have read it then this is a great way to support the author!!✨

Great quality!I enjoyed the book and will probably be buying the next one. It’s really cute but a bit of a slow burn since I don’t think the man ( I forgot his name sorry ) reciprocates the monsters feelings YET!I’d give the plot 7/10 and the condition of the book 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I highly recommend this the plot is interesting and it bound to get better a the series progresses. The art is lovely
