Marinco3 Wire ConnectPro Receptacle and Plug, 12VCP

These plugs work great. Install can be challenging however. If you're experienced with wiring and installing things, definitely recommend this plug.

Easy to install. Fit the existing cutout in Lund boat. Good solid connection of the wires. Once installed it is a good clean look. The plug locks tightly in the socket. I had to buy better wire cutters and wire strippers to handle the 8 & 10 gauge wire I needed to cut and strip.I read several of the reviews before buying and almost didn't buy this plug. My previous boat had a Marinco plug so I made the purchased. I'm glad I did and I have a couple of comments. First it's not possible to insert the plug into the socket wrong. I tried, the plug has three keys and they are different sizes, you can't put it in wrong. Secondly, the face plate and the nut (on the socket) are more than adequate to hold the socket in place, so you can insert the plug and turn it to lock it. If installed properly the face plate is keyed to the socket, so the socket won't turn when inserting the plug. Buy it and install it properly.

Easy install

I bought this to replace the Marinco plug that I left on the trolling motor I sold. I have used Marinco plugs a couple times in the past and have alway thought them to be high quality. That is until now, I don't know if this is a Chinese knock off or something but it's Horrible. It took me 3 hours to finally give up and pack it back in the original packing material and take it to the drop off center. The reason it took 3 hours is all of the set screws for holding the wires weren't Threaded correctly and caused the set screw to be under the plastic lip of the plug. I had to Trim the plastic to be able to get them out to even attempt to install this plug. Also 6 gauge wire.. NOT, it's might take 8 Gauge if the holes in the plug would account for the Shielding. Stay away from this or atleast buy it local where you can inspect it before buying. If you don't then you will have issues. $58 is Nuts should have been $9.99 with a coupon.

I was impressed with the quality of this plug and receptacle and really impressed with how simple the instructions are and how well it is labeled. It didn't take long at all to change both on our boat/trolling motor. It is obviously a high quality product that someone put a lot of common sense into designing....which is rare.

To remove the cover you don't twist it off(the turn unlock is for plugging into receptacle). To remove it I had to use screw driver to pry it off and wiggle it a little at a time until it slid off. Was a pain but with enough force worked. Damaged my first one when I accidently bent the one of the prongs. Luckily I had bought two.

First one I got was obviously used with glue and arc damage. Super easy return process with Amazon and the new one was at my house super fast. New one is perfect for my pre-existing Marinco connector. I bought this for my Minn Kota Trolling motor 24V Terrova. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the connector seems good, but snaps together rather than screws together like some higher end plugs.

For the price, there should be a better slide or clamp on for sealing the hole where the wire slide through

Made in china substandard parts I can't believe it got good reviews. It's very cheaply made stay away from anything that is made by marinco
