It is what it is.
I used it on saprano uke. Maby the battery modle is better. Would be great for cajun.

Not for stringed instruments
This pickup does produce sound, but not good sound. This pickup is made for a cajon or djembe or similar small percussion instruments. Do not put this is a stringed instrument. It sounds so so so so terrible. It produces a very harsh sound.

Its a good product but need a few tweeks
1: The unit did not come with installation instructions. 2. It needs an extra large nut and washer to help in a situation that they were needed (Mine) I had an extra washer and nut on hand for the installation. (Please always give more then we will (Normally ) Needed ... will help with sales. 3. over all it a great product but you will need an EQ to work out the highs and lows you want. *** Over all its at great product and for the price ya just can't beat it. How long it will last ... don't know yet but time will tell ... right ... good job .. PS include a washer with holes for screws for an exterior mount, like a Mountain Dulcimer ...

Didn't work for me
I tried amplifying an acoustic guitar, a ukulele, and a kalimba with this microphone/pickup. It produced little musical instrument sound, while creating an abundance of uncontrollable feedback noise. I originally planned to buy more of these, but I wound up returning it instead.Looking at the pickup, it appears well made. Why isn't it working for some of us?

Worked for my concert ukulele.
I installed this piezoelectric pickup in my ukulele after removing the strap pin and widening the hole to fit. The end result is a effective pickup which also serves as a strap pin. I’m satisfied with the sound and have used it successfully with an amp and into a usb mixer to record music in my pc. It seems to blend well with the nylon strings producing a nice soft sound. For me it was a cost effective option for what I intended.

Too much noise
I like this pick up because it was simply installed after drilling a half-inch hole in the bottom of the guitar. I didn't like it because it made an awful screeching noise every time I plug it in no matter what the situation was. Mind you this was a classical guitar it wasn't I like Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock

Works well ,too well. It picks up all ambient noises. The cord is a drum prettymuch.
Put it in a 3/4 parlor size guitar. Works well. But dont forget its a mic-transducer if yiu dont have a compressor pedal get one this thing picks up everything! Definatly for finger styles no picks! Even with gain very low and mids reduced and compressed the frikin cable picks up every movement, body adjustment, shirt russling, etc.

A Killer Addition, ... Thank Goodness They're Back In Stock!
Just take your time and think, ... a bit of fishing line, a semi-heavy nut, a steady hand with the drill, ,,, and it installs so very easily.Don't let any of the negative reviews scare you away, this is a great piezo pickup that makes my $65.00 Hola! Zebrawood uke sound like a $350 electrified instrument. And by the way, that Hola! is the best "low-end" ukulele I've ever purchased.Want my advice?Buy a few of these, just in case they go out of stock again.UPDATE: Well, a couple days back, the listing stated they'd be back in Amazon's inventory on February 13, 2020, ... now it looks like that info may have been faulty. That's rather disappointing.
