Pocket Manual of Homeopathic Materia Medica

A great help in the Home Health Library
Anyone with an interest in complementary medicine can find useful informaton in this thorough book. Those interested specifically in homeopathy and in helping themselves to better health will find this book a necessity for their frequent use. The efficacy of Homeopathy has been proven over and over, and statistical representation is lengthy and available on Homeopathic websites. Despite naysayers, whose questionable motives include trying unscientifically to "prove" homeopathy does not work, thousands of testimonials and prestigeous scientific trials give the opposite information. This is an interesting book to just peruse and a valuable one for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge and understanding.

Just what I was looking for.
This materia medica doesn’t have all the remedies but it’s a great addition to my library.

Solid reference source
Boericke's Pocket Manual is the classic, usually well worn reference book, found in the library of most naturopathic and homeopathic physicians. If I could only have one book about homeopathy, this would be it. William Boericke was an MD/Botanist, and his works form the basis of most modern materia medicas. This volume includes homeopathic uses of hundreds of plants and natural substances, many of which are not found elsewhere. Latin and common names are cross referenced, a list of remedy duration of action, and a limited repertory is provided. While the Indian re-printed edition is a poorly bound version from the 1927 manuscript, my copy is still holding up after 10 years. It is an excellent, affordable reference source. The newer versions can be more costly, but are no more valuable to me than my old copy, which I still carry, with my own practice notes in the margins.

This is the best materia medica/repertory combination. A 'must have' for anyone who attempts to learn homeopathy

Studying Homeopathy...
If you want to be a serious student of homeopathy, then you must get this resource. No library is complete without it.

Good content, exceptionally poor quality binding & printing
Boericke's content is excellent, however, the quality of printing and binding of the Indian edition is exceptionally poor - pages not stitched into book, cover not glued, spine reinforcement (a recycled zipper) not glued. Huge disappointment from this publisher - don't waste your time and money with this edition.

Great Resource!
I like Kent's better, but this one is valuable alongside it.

A poorly printed, yet expensive book
I wasn't expecting this kind of quality at such a high price. The print quality is absolutely rubbish, the text is brittle and the font is so small that if you are not a spec user then you will become one soon. Good news is that you can treat your eyes using this book which got damaged because of the small font. The indexing isn't proper not it seems to be an international standard book. For all I can say is that it could be a pirated version and can be safely avoided.

Book
Unfortunately didn't realise it is almost identical to the other book I brought, wouldn't have brought it. Not really a pocket book as quite large.
